Summary

We applied for this project to address pressing needs within the ICT sector and the broader business landscape. With our aims realized, we have significantly impacted the digital entrepreneurial ecosystem. The ICT sector, crucial in global digitization, influences almost every business sector and has increased the demand for highly skilled employees. We targeted industries like healthcare, mobility, communication, e-commerce, tourism, and education. Recognizing the high number of SMEs in the EU, we aimed to foster an entrepreneurial climate despite challenges like the stigma of failed ventures and difficulties in attracting investors. Our project cultivated an entrepreneurial mindset among European citizens, transforming the perception of digital entrepreneurship into a desirable career choice. We provided an entrepreneurship training program for ICT students in VET, addressing gaps in skills and creating a bridge between ICT students and SMEs. Key outputs include an Innovative Training Module, the 'e-VET' Digital Platform, and the 'Digipreneur' Game. These outputs have fostered a supportive environment for ICT entrepreneurship and empowered a new generation of ICT entrepreneurs.

Objectives

By implementing this project, we aimed to leverage digital technologies to drive economic growth, create jobs, and build greener societies. Our focus was on empowering SMEs with digital tools to enhance their global reach and market performance. Recognizing that Europe’s 25 million SMEs are the backbone of the EU economy, we sought to enhance their role in tackling challenges like climate change and social cohesion. VET providers in the ICT field play a crucial role in this digital transformation. Our project aimed to create a digital entrepreneurial culture among ICT students by enhancing their skills and talent, fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, and promoting ICT entrepreneurship. We also equipped VET teachers with knowledge about digital start-ups and cross-sectoral opportunities, facilitated access to finance for ICT entrepreneurs, and boosted cooperation between ICT entrepreneurs and SMEs for digital transformation. Through these initiatives, we successfully adapted vocational education and training to meet labor market needs, fostering a robust digital entrepreneurial ecosystem. We have seen ICT students develop innovative solutions, start their own businesses, and significantly contribute to the digital economy.
