Summary

Our project was dedicated to the educational needs of masters/foremen because they have a key position in the industrial enterprise. It forms an important link between management and production op...

Objectives

After the decline in production caused by the pandemic of COVID 19, industrial production (predominantly automotive) needed to get its dynamic back. The target group that we focused on is formed especially by production managers. They implement the management decision right into the operators' work. They have a direct impact on the quality of products and the effectiveness of the process. Right now, all industrial companies lack educated employees for foremen positions. Our target groups: foremen, team leaders, and productive managers in manufacturing companies, obtained the complete educational methodology customised directly for them. Our project goal was also to unite the requirements for masters in all the EU countries. CAR Master project aimed to design and implement the educational platform, which is available at https://platform.car-master.eu. A modern and interactive platform is a new didactic tool for manufacturing companies' foremen or productive managers. Blended learning also includes a syllabus of face-to-face workshops, which the educators can use to tailor face-to-face training for the group of foremen. CAR Master methodology consists of 20 hours of online learning content and 40 hours of face-to-face training.

Activities

1. We defined the key skills of foremen: In September 2022, we successfully achieved the first result of the project (PR1). We carried out surveys, desk research, in individual partner countries to refine the job descriptions of foremen/supervisors. The most important part was the interviews with HR experts and masters/supervisors directly from the production companies to find out the needs of the target group. The interviews were conducted from June to August, and we have responses from more than 100 participants. Manufacturing companies are generally interested in our project and the upcoming CAR Master educational platform. The competency model of the key skills suitable for managers with a brief curriculum and skills framework were created. 2. The detailed curriculum with major and fractional goals was developed including the following 10 units: Unit 1: Total productive maintenance (2 hours online + 4 hours F2F) Unit 2: Production process (2 hours online + 4 hours F2F) Unit 3: Quality control methods (2 hours online + 4 hours F2F) Unit 4: Digital Competences (2 hours online and 8 hours of F2F) Unit 5: Economic and organizational knowledge (2 hours online + 4 hours F2F) Unit 6: Professional communication (2 hours online and 8 hours of F2F) Unit 7: New technologies (2 hours online) Unit 8: Environment and green skills (2 hours online) Unit 9: Health promotion and Risk prevention (2 hours online) Unit 10: Leadership role of masters (2 hours online + 8 hours F2F) Further to the curriculum, the learning texts for MOOC were developed. 3. CAR MASTER xLearning platform was developed (20 hours): 40% of the educational content is online with use of innovative methods: self-assessment tool, 10 MOOC courses, 10 microlearning videos and gamification-case study for master´s work. 4. Educational program CAR MASTER for face-to-face education (40 hours): 60 % of the content was created in curriculum for face-to-face education: 1 syllabus for face-to-face workshop is available for educators. 5. Certification of online content is part of the CAR Master platform – certificate is generated after completion of all learning content and after successful graduation of the final quiz (at least 70%). The recommendation for certification during face-to-face training is described in the workshop syllabus (template of certificate attached). Accreditation of the educational program CAR MASTER is prepared in the Czech Republic; the recommendations for other accreditations are stated in the final accreditation report in all partner languages and countries. 6. Pilot testing and finalisation of an online educational platform: we have realized pilot test of online content with 126 participants and face to face training with 68 participants. Then, we elaborated on the small requirements of the CAR Master platform. CAR Master methodology was translated to all partner´s languages (English, German, Spanish, Slovak, Czech and Polish).

We went beyond the promised indicators in the application to make the final quiz to verify the skills of participants to obtain the certificate. Face-to-face training is u to each educator to monitor the quality and skills of participants – recommendation and template of certificate is the part of workshop syllabus. Task 2: National accreditation - desk research in each partner country: not possible to obtain for all partners except for the coordinator (Czech Republic), which is in the process of preparation for accreditation in the Czech Republic. The reason was the condition for the applicant as the educational company (partners do not fulfil this condition) – but the final accreditation report recommends to each interested institution in all partner countries how to successfully process it. Task 3: Accreditation report - recommendations for accreditation in partner countries for another interested institutions (1 report). 6.
