โ–ถSummary

We applied for this project to address a key challenge in vocational language learning (VET): Many vocational students lack the necessary language skills for the job market because instruction is often not tailored to their specific needs. In many vocational education institutions, there is either a general language curriculum or a lack of suitable teaching methods. Furthermore, we recognized that traditional teaching approaches often fail to motivate learners and provide them with practical language skills. Integrating Virtual Reality offers an innovative way to learn languages in realistic situations, making lessons more effective. Our goal was to enhance the language competence of VET learners, support teachers in integrating new technologies, and sustainably improve graduates' employability.

โ–ถObjectives

Our goal in implementing the project was to enhance the quality and effectiveness of vocational language learning (VET) through the use of Virtual Reality (VR). To achieve this, we focused on several key objectives. First, we aimed to develop innovative teaching methods by exploring how VR could add value to vocational language education. Another important goal was to increase learner motivation and language proficiency. Through immersive VR scenarios, learners are provided with realistic language practice, allowing them to improve their communication skills in a professional context. This hands-on approach helps to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and real-world application. Additionally, we aimed to support teachers in integrating new technologies into their teaching. Teachers were trained to effectively incorporate VR into their lessons, enabling them to apply modern, digital teaching methods. Lastly, we focused on improving learners' employability. By strengthening their language skills, we aimed to facilitate their entry into the job market and enhance their international career opportunities.
