▶Objectives
The project INTRuST, addresses experts from furniture-related companies, forest operators, companies' employees and managers dealing with wood certifications interested in increasing their skills and competencies, VET providers, training organizations, and educators providing training programs related to wood and forest certifications. Besides this primary objective, other specific purposes are: Increase the knowledge, skills, and attitudes on climate change and sustainable development in VET by designing new curricula on environment-related strategies and certifications adapting for VET provisions according to the skills needs of the addressing sectors and contribute to the validation of non-formal learning, Improve the digital readiness of wood and furniture manufacturers by developing specific industry 4.0 training in the forest and wood value chain, To develop and test a digital guidance tool allowing industries to know suitable certification schemes, and appropriate training content, contributing to the promotion of flexible and permeable pathways, To deliver the training through an e-learning platform (MOOC) in different EU languages, provide interactive learning materials with a multidisciplinary approaches.
▶Activities
To achieve Increasing skills and competencies Regarding wood and forest certifications, consortium partners focused on fulfilling the requirements to deal with the training market. They addressed the skills needs, training development, and Innovations In forestry concerning Industry 4.0 solutions for the wood supply chain. Then, the partners started developing and designing the most suitable curriculum for skills and competencies regarding certifications and labeling wood-based products. This step resulted in the first part of R1, A1, the state-of-the-art providing an overview of the current environmental and digital trends and practices affecting the wood value chain in its Integrity. Also, this state-of-the-art will ultimately be used to develop a dedicated training curriculum -the key objective of the INTRuST project -that can support the wood value chain stakeholders in integrating digital and green practices in their operations. This curriculum followed ECVET principles and the EQF. The partners also provided a report concerning their national qualification system harmonization. To ensure the training contents, validation of the joint curriculum was achieved by 13 stakeholders from all consortium countries. The innovative action, Coaching Tool, was implemented in R2. This tool supports the users in finding appropriate content to design their certification. R3 was regarding INTRuST training module development. The course would be foreseen in 3 main modules: -Normative, certification and regulation for Timber and Wood, Furniture and Forestry, -Industry 4.0 solutions in the F&W value chain, and environmental marketing and circular economy approach. Due to the feature improvement of INTRuST, consortium partners considered the most suitable training paths, modules, and units in terms of the real needs of the target groups identified in R1-A2. It's because it was finalized with three more training modules. The consortium partners focused on how different training units can be structured and how they satisfy the learners' needs. The training unit structure template, R3-A1, was also defined to develop the training contents. In R3-A2 and A3, the partners developed 104 sub-units, quizzes, and 31 videos for a really productive training process. Then, these training materials were validated by some relevant stakeholders from different countries like consortium countries, Bulgaria, Belgium, Spain, or others like Greece, Italy, Malaysia, and Finland in R3-A4. The collaborative platform included the whole training materials in both English and consortium countries, languages developed in R4, and it also supported the users in another part of this project's result, Pilot Action, to test the training materials as well as the coaching tool, which was integrated into the collaborative platform previously.
▶Impact
Our project team comprises five partners from five countries composed of organizations with different profiles: technology, wood certification, forestry and energy consumption, forest certification and environmental marketing from VET institutions, research entities and industry representatives. The consortium is Involving the following intellectual outputs as project’s results in terms of the goals of the project Implemented during the project’s life time as follows: R1- Analysis and Report on the situation of Forestry and Furniture certifications and I4.0 solutions and Joint Curriculum. Six training modules were defined and developed and were uploaded to the project's collaborative platform in English as well as the consortium different languages. The Pilot action was planned and has been done by several participants from partners’ countries as well as the other countries like Greece, and Italy. The collaborative platform and the whole training materials were assessed by collecting the participants’ feedback through the questionnaire. Then the pilot action and the result of the questionnaire was presented as a small summary report.
