▶Objectives
The ‘Life in EU’ aimed to promote active citizenship though creative learning, to strengthen labour market integration through an online motivational roadmap to employability and knowledge and recognition of diversity and promotion of tolerance. The project was formulated as a user-centric, technology fuelled project that aims to empower young migrants to communicate, interact, create and exchange knowledge through the use of novel learning technologies that support and foster ubiquitous, learner-centred, social and life-wide future smart training and knowledge transfer. The proposed approach aimed to establish a digital learning ecosystem that targets societal needs and challenges by promoting cognitive, affective and social aspects of personalised training within informal (cultural, historic, tradition) settings. The project was instilling augmented reality worlds of “serious games, gamification and simulations” coupled with a smart assessment capability that leverages performance-based assessment tools and machine/deep learning technologies for dynamic adaptation of the learning scenarios and environment.
▶Activities
The following activities were implemented during the lifetime of the project: • PMI/QA: Project and Financial Management, Quality Assurance by mid-term and final surveys, surveys about each of the 4 TPMs, LTTA survey, creating the project G-Drive to store all project relevant data, SC meetings by Zoom • Dissemination and Communication: Design of the project logo; design and implementation of the project website, implementation of the project Facebook account, on and off-line activities • PR1: Desk-based and online reviews to assess the training needs of young migrants in understanding the cultures of the host country and analysis of the perceptions of the society through data analytics in the participating countries which lead to Comprehensive Reports for Austria, Germany, Greece, France, Malta and Slovenia followed by the respective Comprehensive Report “Collection of practices on citizenship education and labour integration for young migrants“, available in English; Development of questionnaire on the need’s assessment of young migrants; Focus group discussions (GR, MT, FR and SI); Reports on the group discussions and results from the questionnaires (GR, MT, FR and SI) • PR2: Development of the training material based the subjects of history, politics, social affairs, law and rights, values, religion, geography, culture and customs of the hosting countries Austria, Germany, Greece, France, Malta and Slovenia, i.e. design six e-learning modules, available in English, German, Greece, French, Maltese and Slovenian, • PR3: Design of the MOOC platform and the mobile Apps for Android an iPhone in English, German, Greek, French, Maltese and Slovenian for Social, Youth Workers and Organisations working with migrants when interacting with them in matter of active citizenship, civic rights, life education, social values, history and traditions; preparing respective Guidelines how to make use of the MOOC and/or Apps as well, pilot testing of the MOOC and/or Apps • ME: 5 MEs each one in in Austria, France, Germany and Greece, and on Malta to raise awareness of policy actors, Youth NGOs and stakeholders on the importance of fostering social and labour inclusion of migrants through citizenship education; to make awareness about the MOOC and Apps targeting both youth workers and young migrant learners; to acquire multipliers for the practical use of this deliverable • LTTA/Joint Staff Training: Training Activity for 31 youth workers and or professionals in Germany to improve Youth workers/trainers and researchers’ skills related to citizenship acquisition; to enhance quality in youth training on citizenship: to make them aware of the MOOC, and how to work with; to make a first practical test to improve the MOOC; to find multipliers for this deliverable
