โ–ถObjectives

With FilmSkills the project partners wanted to create a collaborative framework between education and industry, establish standards, assess and recognize contemporary skills for working on film set in Baltic, provide flexible learning opportunities, support continuous professional development, and address current and future trends in the film sector. Also, to update curriculums and fill gaps in providing training. The project successfully established a tight collaboration between higher education institutions and film industry professionals and film schools and organizations in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. As a result we are better able to prepare students for the workforce and make the industry more systematic and transparent, diversify the eucation offred. New assessment and training methods were developed and examined, with better understanding of the of the structure of the industry, of skills and competencies required with website balticfilmskills.com acting as a point of reference for variety of target groups interested in becoming or already working in film. As a wider impact, the project brought together Baltic film teachers, professionals and students, increased visibility and professionalism.

โ–ถActivities

FilmSkills was first and foremost a research project, so through the PR 1-3 the main activity of the FilmSkills team was to develop a methodology and conduct research in order to achieve the project goals and deliver intellectual outputs. The supportive tasks were online and in-person meetings with team and informants, gathering feedback, editing and translating the documents and making them available. In PR 4 the project team worked towards making the project results available to a variety of target groups: establishing a website, creating and producing videos from the beginning to end, finding and completing material for the website, translating and subtitling the videos, etc. The team also participated at organizing the multiplier event and various other communication activities, such as writing common press-releases, in-person meetings, etc. Finally, there were project management tasks to find service providers, document and file reports, etc.
