โ–ถSummary

The Covid-19 pandemic brought major changes to the world, significantly affecting cleaning. When the pandemic started, active disinfection began, often unknowingly and incorrectly. The real impact...

โ–ถObjectives

We have successfully raised awareness about the importance of conscious cleaning, empowering individuals to make informed choices, seek additional information, and adopt sustainable cleaning practices. We have created materials how to create cleanliness with minimal resources, thanks to our summarized research and science-based approach. We have provided clear cleaning guidelines that minimize disinfection needs by emphasizing the nuances that truly impact cleaning results. We have taught individuals to notice and focus on key areas where cleanliness is critical, ensuring an overall superior cleaning outcome. We have provided materials and advice for professional training in the field of cleaning in vocational education institutions, cleaning companies, as well as for planning cleaning everywhere including in healthcare facilities. The dissemination of our project results has successfully encouraged widespread reflection on the importance of conscious cleaning, fostering a global shift in mindset toward creating a cleaner and more sustainable environment.

โ–ถActivities

- We analysed cleaning instructions from 15 countries for cleaning under Covid-19 conditions, pointed out differences, studied the differences between the instructions and the actual cleaning. - We analysed 44 scientific studies (In the project, we promised at least 30) on cleaning in pandemic conditions. - We made a summary of instructions and research - document called 'Cleaning during a pandemic' - We created 2 promotional videos about the importance of conscious cleaning (In the project, we promised 1 promovideo). We called these videos a wake-up call for people to start noticing unreasonable disinfection, smearing in cleaning, and the importance of cleaning contact surfaces. Awareness allows you to make appropriate decisions, achieve results with minimal resources. If you are not aware of the topic, the availability of training materials will not help. -We made short videos of scientific research results that we shared on social media. - We conducted science-based real-life cleaning experiments, the aim of which was to use objective measurements to find the most effective cleaning tools, methods, techniques and substances to create cleanliness during a pandemic. -We made 6 cleaning recommendation videos, summarizing the results of real-life cleaning experiments - how to achieve cleanliness during a pandemic? - We created a self-audit based on real-life cleaning tests, which allows both the cleaning service provider and the buyer to assess how prepared their property is for the pandemic and how their cleaning quality is. As a result of the project's consistent dissemination the project's results and guidelines reached approximately 141,000 people across Europe.

โ–ถImpact

We produced the following results in the project: - Instructional material 'Cleaning during a pandemic' -which can be used by cleaning managers, cleaning service buyers, healthcare institution employees, cleaning teachers at vocational schools, decision-makers on healthcare-related issues, cleaners, professional associations, compilers of cleaning instructions and anyone else who comes into contact with creating cleanliness in premises. On this basis, more objective decisions can be made, no more disinfecting โ€œjust in case'. Attention focused on real needs. - 6 cleaning recommendation videos, summarizing the results of real-life cleaning experiments - how to achieve cleanliness during a pandemic?Videos are based by objective measurements (with minimal or no disinfection) help to teach the best way to clean, to pay attention to the most important. - A report summarizing the results of the cleaning experiments, which includes the process, how the experiments were conducted, what the process and conditions were, what data was collected, how the data was analyzed, what conclusions were drawn from the experiments, and additional information. Based on this report, we can state that the experiments have scientific value and this report was created in addition, i.e. it was not indicated as an output of the project, but it gives significant value and credibility to the project results. - self-audit based on real-life cleaning tests, which allows both the cleaning service provider and the buyer to assess how prepared their property is for the pandemic and how their cleaning quality is. The implementation of self-audit helps to identify significant deficiencies and correct them. Self-audit helps to highlight shortcomings in cleaning and provides suggestions for solutions. It makes sense to maintain a consistently high level of cleaning, because experience has shown that a pandemic starts unexpectedly and then no one has time for a thorough cleaning. As a result of the project activities, we significantly increased awareness about cleaning, through which to create a safe and secure environment both in the conditions of a pandemic and in normal life. With that, saving resources, preventing damage to human health and the environment, also avoiding tasks that have no result (just in case disinfection). All of this has a greater impact than we might think. Damage to health due to disinfection errors usually occurs years later, although immediate irreversible damage to health due to the explosive use of disinfectants is also known.
