The project aimed to improve the occupational safety and preparedness of civil protection and safety personnel through an innovative e-training curriculum. Key objectives included: enhancing readiness and actionability; validating field-acquired practices; identifying and addressing knowledge gaps; developing an international e-training curriculum; and exploiting simulation-based training methods. Additionally, an accessible e-learning platform facilitated knowledge-sharing and collaboration among professionals across multiple countries

SETOFF implemented a series of activities, including comprehensive training needs analyses, validation of partner country requirements, development of a collaborative training curriculum, creation of an e-learning platform, and conversion of materials into digital modules. Pilot projects in partner countries tested the curriculum’s effectiveness, followed by an assessment and refinement phase. Additionally, the project incorporated ECVET tools and trainer workshops to enhance skill retention and knowledge dissemination

The project resulted in a structured multilingual (5 languages) e-training curriculum, an online training platform, simulation-based learning modules, and ECVET-compliant certification tools. The program enhanced the training capabilities of civil protection personnel, increased collaboration across international teams, and supported digital transformation efforts in vocational education and training (VET). The long-term benefits include improved disaster management readiness, the establishment of best practices, and enhanced professional competencies for safety personnel.
