Objectives

main objectives: to improve our students' digital competence, aiming to enhance the students' skills and abilities in using digital tools and technologies; to enhance their communicative competence in the English language, that is focusing on improving students' ability to communicate effectively in English, by putting these two objectives on a common front: to create a digital guide of their neighborhood, which serves as a practical means to achieve these objectives. This initiative not only aims to develop specific competencies but also integrates them into a single, cohesive project.

Impact

Considering the students' competences in the language established two different outputs: Students with lower linguistic and digital competence created a Digital Guide of their hometown. In their guides they described relevant places in their town such as schools, high schools, hospitals, and public transport. Throughout the process, apart from the linguistic content, students were required to create, edit and share digital content using a variety of digital tools. Student with a higher competence in English and also better digital skills developed a series of tasks: 1. A video-presentation including information of the Historical neighborhoods of Madrid and Dublin, also some infographics, summarizing the information from the video. 2. A DIGITAL GUIDE of Historical neighbourhoods of MAdrid and Dublin where our Centers are located. The Guides include information about educational institutions (schools, high schools, adult centers, )... health and administrative services and other points of interest. Students used several digital tools: word editor, cloud, Canva, Padlet, Screencast software, Qr creators. The video guide includes a map of the area and a video description of all relevant sites, facilities and services in the area
