Learn E-Safety and Be Safe on Digital World

The request for the project came from the school's teaching staff, motivated by the need to improve current problems among pupils. It was felt that nowadays, both in the classroom and among families, there is concern about everything that happens on the internet, the use of the internet and its security and, of course, the possible harassment that can be received through these media at an increasingly younger age. For these reasons and in order to help our pupils and protect them, the school's teaching staff wanted to carry out a project along these lines. The option of participating with other centres in its deepening and in this way also addressing the issue of internationalisation was considered.

The main objective when carrying out this project was to have a better understanding of the subject on which it is based: cyberbullying. It is something relatively new but it affects us in the classroom as our students are exposed to it on a daily basis since the use of the Internet is something common among them. Having a broader knowledge of the subject, being prepared and knowing how to act from the centre as professionals if this situation arises is the most important thing when we started the project. In addition, it seemed very interesting to us to learn how these situations are dealt with in neighbouring countries that have other realities, experiences and instruments for working on the issue. Being able to work with these partners would provide us with a broader and more complete vision of the problem. The aim of this project was to create a safe Internet environment for pupils by increasing digital competences. In addition, it aimed to develop better educators and more aware generations by sharing good practices in ICT technologies with project partners in European countries and transferring good practices to schools.

The activities that have been implemented in the development of the project have been many and varied. All of them aimed at deepening the topic addressed in the project and to have a greater knowledge of it by the whole educational community. The most important are the following: - Creation of the project's own blog, You Tube channel, Twitter, Facebook and website. - Workshops and talks for pupils and parents by the municipal and national police. - Informative leaflets for the whole educational community with guidelines for detecting cyberbullying and recommendations for avoiding it. - Dissemination activities such as Erasmus' corners and exhibitions in all the centers. - Training for teachers on cyberbullying through talks by the Finnish project partner. - Radio, Canva, Kahoot, robotics and chroma workshops on cyberbullying. - Students' production of a video on cyberbullying. - Presentation of the schools collaborating in the project with videos. - Creation of a website to give visibility to the project. - Creation of a Twinning space to collaborate and communicate between the centers involved. - Participation in conferences in Valladolid to contribute our vision on Erasmus+ projects.

With advances in science, technology is now an integral part of everyone's life. Consequently, the effective use of digital technologies has come to the forefront of the skills that future generations must have. However, it is possible to bring this competence to our students if teachers are also competent. For this reason, constant training in current topics is necessary. With the development of this project we have succeeded in equipping students with the skills of problem solving, access to information, information processing and presentation through the effective use of ICT tools and to enable them to use these technologies effectively and safely. Being able to improve collaboration between the community, school, teachers and pupils through the use of ICT tools has been very interesting. We have also worked on the quality of education by supporting digital learning environments with educational practices. Finally, raising awareness and sensitising children on the rules needed to prevent the negative effects of online activities has been one of the most impactful results.
