▶Objectives
The main objective of this project is to assess, introduce, and create a traditional dry-stone skills training and emphasize its adoption as well as to develop new learning and teaching tools, methodologies and pedagogical approaches including practice-based learning activities related to it. The transmission of this technique is essential to safeguard it for future generations. Environmental sustainability: The art of dry-stone walling concerns the know-how related to making stone constructions by organizing stones upon each other, without using any other materials except sometimes dry soil, they play a vital role in preventing landslides, floods, and avalanches. Specific objectives • Design a training course for master craft in dry-stone technique to increase employability. • Transfer the millenarian technique and heterogeneous information and procedures in a standardized and academic course. • Establishing connections between the academic education and craft society. • Promote dry-stone technique to women enhancing gender equity as on average only 5% of dry-stone professionals are women. • Create the basis for the future professional certification • Create a stone bank to provide dry-stone masons access to raw material
