Responsible Smart Citizenship against Poverty & Social Exclusion

The project arose from the need to develop new strategies to combat poverty and social exclusion in the EU, innovative and participatory, based on the civic and social commitment of an active, intelligent and responsible citizenship, which responded to the current situation: Covid-19 crisis, insufficiency of traditional strategies to combat poverty and social exclusion, emergence of a new poverty profile, EU commitment to the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs. The project responds to these needs and proposes an European Strategy for Education and Social Participation against Poverty and Social Exclusion, addressing the following needs: updated information, pedagogical materials and training resources, collaborative learning methodologies, design of social projects, acquisition of key competencies; construction of a quality, accessible and functional Virtual Learning Environment; an Education and Social Participation Program, aimed at improving the qualification of professionals and the creation of Local Learning Communities, and the empowerment and involvement of Active, Intelligent and Responsible Citizenship; and to systematize the process and build the tools for its sustainability, transfer and implementation in the EU.

The GENERAL OBJECTIVE of the project was to contribute to the reduction of poverty and social exclusion in the EU, through the design, testing and systematization of an innovative and effective European Strategy for Education and Social Participation against Poverty & Social Exclusion, based on the construction of an “Ecosystem of Inclusive and Collaborative Learning" and in the creation of "Local Learning Communities". To this end, the SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES achieved have been: a) Design, development and updating of a Digital Toolbox that covers appropriate teaching materials and resources, innovative methodologies that promote inclusion, social participation and the exercise of active citizenship. b) Design, build and boost of a Virtual Environment for Inclusive and Collaborative Learning for proper functioning, operability, transferability and sustainability. c) Design, testing and validation of an Education and Social Participation Program to improve technical qualifications and promote the creation of Local Collaborative Learning Communities. d) Systematization of the “RSC against P&SE” process and preparation of a White Book, a Transfer Toolkit and a Networking and Sustainability Strategy.

To achieve the general objective, and main result of the project, the following program of activities and tasks was planned and executed: R1–Digital Toolbox: construction and updating of the Toolbox of pedagogical materials and resources: preparation of 4 state of play on P&SE, identification of BBPP, compilation of pedagogical materials and resources, preparation of a Methodological Guide; construction and updating of the Methodological Toolkit. R2–Virtual Environment against the P&SE: conceptualization and design; construction of the technical Platform, Portal, APP and online tools; dynamization, updating and permanent improvement. R3–Education and Social Participation Program: design of two curriculums; testing and evaluation. Construction, systematization and validation of the Education and Social Participation Program. R4-Advocacy Toolkit, Transfer and Sustainability: White Book on Political Advocacy; Transfer and Deployment Toolkit; Networking and Sustainability Strategy. Other activities for the management, monitoring, quality assurance, evaluation, dissemination and sustainability of the proposal.

The MAIN RESULT of the project is the design, testing and systematization, for its subsequent transfer and sustainability of a European Strategy for Education and Social Participation against P&SE. This Program contains two independent and complementary training programs. Conducting expert groups and online and in-person tests. R4)TOOLKIT FOR ADVOCACY, TRANSFER AND SUSTAINABILITY: RSC White Book and European Strategy for Education and Social Participation against P&SE; RSC platform user manual; Networking and Sustainability Strategy; RSC Manifesto. OTHER relevant RESULTS of the project: development of a corporate brand; design and distribution of brochures; preparation and dissemination of 5 newsletters; dissemination and multiplier events; preparation of resources and materials for the management area.
