Summary

The project has been created to generate inclusive classrooms in Spanish educational centers, including the partner university, with a diversity of students with different profiles, especially students with visual impairment. The school partnership includes three centers specialized in this profile of students, the collaboration and exchange of practices has served to generate experiential classrooms within technical subjects such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics and arts (STEAM), subjects that have often been cited as difficult for students with visual impairment. The centers specializing in students with visual impairment, the partner university, the Canary Islands high school with students with diverse disabilities, including severely disabled profiles, and the coordinating center in Burgos have generated full integration classrooms, with students of diverse profiles, working in STEAM subjects and seeking full integration of all students, working on equal opportunities without differentiating students. The new educational law in Spain integrates students without differentiating them by their physical disabilities, which obliges Spanish centers and teachers to prepare for this student profile.

Objectives

1.- Generation of material with technical notation in audio and Braille format and its inclusion in conventional schools. Access to visual resources. Development of adapted materials for students with various disabilities in the coordinating school and in the Spanish University. 2.- To develop online formats and accessible audiences for students with visual impairment in STEAM subjects in an alternative format to the usual one. 3.- Development of oral explanations for the understanding of visual concepts, Experimenting without vision: some aspects of participation in classroom activities, inclusive experiments between students with and without disabilities. 4.- Creation of didactic methods for STEAM subjects and to be able to develop activities in visual supports. 5.- Real experimentation in integrated classrooms and generation of didactic strategies, highlighting the need for teacher training to enable teachers to overcome these problems. Generate specialized training for undergraduate and master's degree students in teaching within the profile of students with visual impairment. To develop through the Spanish University international dissemination activities.

Activities

Three LTTs among students to develop in an experiential way all this shared online experience. Four plans designed before the start of the project; Dissemination Plan, Sustainability Plan, Contingency Plan and Quality Assessment Plan. STEAM activities, both in the centers individually, as well as their sharing in the LTTs. -Definition of profiles and variables among students. -Interviewing experts from specialist partners. Interviews developed in the CRE center of the ONCE in Madrid. - Definition of requirements and selection of participants in the LTTs of all partners. Development of online scientific documents and visualization of data profiles. -Development of protocols, consents and communication to achieve involvement and participation and manage contact with recipients, aligning with legal and ethical requirements. - Design and improvement by analyzing the operationalization of Apps, visual design, communication-interaction-tactics in the use of Apps in STEAM experiences. - Development of four transnational meetings to discuss the aspects and implementation of the project and three learning activities including students for the analysis of the application of joint activities.

Impact

1- Design of inclusive classrooms including all types of profiles. 2.- Adaptation of classrooms, resources, means and methods in order to design inclusive classroom educational projects. The partners have collaborated in the development of mobile apps as a resource in the development of experiential activities, publishing results and disseminating results in international conferences through the UBU. 3.- The Spanish University has trained undergraduate and master students in methodologies for students with visual impairment. Seminars and lectures have been given at the ONCE delegation in Burgos with the participation of teaching degree students, educational conferences with continuity for future courses. 4 .- The project has been disseminated among professionals in the area through the teacher training centers in Burgos and Lanzarote and through international sessions organized by the University of Burgos. 5 .- Audiovisual material has been generated among the partners. 6 .- A set of tools have been used, composed by the use of Apps.
