Objectives

2023 Education Vision of European countries; to employ highly qualified, well-educated individuals who are suitable for the profession as teachers, and to organize studies that will support their life-long development. All partners contribute developing and implementing innovative STEM education for teachers in order to enhance the quality of science teaching and learning. Throughout the implementation of the project, teachers and educators gained integrated teaching skills for STEM education, developed a student-centered approach to STEM education by facilitating inquiry-based teaching, collaboration and active learning. We succeded Developing different approaches (STEM Education) and methods in education with the project applications, sharing innovative practices, implementing and developing different STEM activities in the international arena, evaluation studies for the improvement of post-implementation practices, sharing the education programs and methods applied by different universities, sharing the experiences gained.

Impact

The project results were to develop teachers’ and educators’ competences - especially integrated STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) teaching skills, based on collaborative problem solving (CPS) -quality of science teaching and learning to develop teachers’ and educators’ integrated teaching skills, based on collaborative STEM education. -develop a student-centered approach to STEM education, facilitating inquiry-based teaching, collaboration and active learning. For the attaining of these goals two results as outputs were created: STEM Education Handbook for teachers as a guide book for continuous professional development and STEM modules- lessons and activities book. In addition to the concrete outputs of the project, results such as developing awareness and method-technical knowledge about the STEM approach among teacher candidates, teachers and students were obtained.
