โ–ถObjectives

Contribute to increasing capacities to reduce stereotypes by developing innovative and interactive materials, tested through a behavioural science lens for their potential to enhance equality by modifying everyday practical skills and social norms regarding attitudes and stereotypes in STEAM education. With the project, participants were able to: - Define unconscious biases and gender stereotypes in STEAM education by raising awareness among target groups: education professionals and decision-makers. - Support high school and secondary school teachers by providing training and materials to address diversity and gender balance in their classrooms (e.g., helping them design suitable educational programs, organize practical activities, promote equality in STEAM, and encourage more girls to participate in STEAM education). - Create a friendly classroom environment where girls feel valued and motivated to engage in STEAM activities as equals, both in numbers and in terms of responsibilities.

โ–ถImpact

The project delivered four key outcomes. Outcome 1: Training Programme A manual with 20 lesson plans is available online or in a blended format. It caters to high school and secondary school teachers and students. The manual can be downloaded from the project's website in PDF format and is accessible in consortium languages. Outcome 2: Recommender System The system includes a questionnaire to assess gender biases in STEM teaching and suggests materials accordingly. It assesses teaching practice competence and gender equality awareness, offering profiles ranging from Basic to Advanced. Outcome 3: Electronic Repository Educational level, teaching practices, and awareness of gender equality in STEM categorised 60 selected materials. Each partner contributed three original materials. Guidelines for use are provided, and most materials are available in consortium languages. Outcome 4: Teacher Help Platform The platform on the project website aids teachers with resources and tools for professional development. It promotes student-centred learning, offering ready-to-use lesson plans to challenge gender stereotypes. It enables blended learning, fostering adaptability to various environments, promoting pedagogical skills and inclusivity.
