▶Objectives
The objective of this project has been to increase water literacy and awareness of water sustainability among the participants with the activities that will be implemented to protect water in the best way, to ensure the effective use of natural water resources without putting them in harm's way. danger and protecting them. Specifically, our objectives were the following: • Familiarize ourselves with the concept of water footprint in all its aspects, focusing mainly on clothing, food and agriculture and the current problem of water scarcity. • Calculate the water footprint of all participants in order to have reduced it. at the end of the project. Awareness of the importance of caring for the environment from the perspective of interested parties. Promote different activities to celebrate “World Water Day”. Promote actions in educational centers to raise awareness about the good use of water through the creation of a manifesto. Promote the personal, professional and academic development of participants. Create a durable and living digital tool. Increase the motivation and self-confidence of the participants. Improve the linguistic and digital skills of participants.
▶Impact
Work has been done on water literacy and reducing the water footprint. The creation of an OER (open digital resource) prepared by our partner ASPETE to disseminate the activities of our project. Our OER becomes a global, transferable and public-use tool that aims to promote good environmental practices in all aspects and particularly in raising awareness about the water footprint. Our work has also been selected for its quality to be published in a Spanish magazine called 'Almoraima', where articles of interest about our region are published. It was presented in the Diverciencia contest and won first prize in the CCSS category, and 2nd prize in Environment awarded by the City of Algeciras Student Researcher Contest.
