Objectives

This project aims to improve digital competence by developing an e-learning platform that identifies and satisfies the training needs noticed in teachers and students in the field of technical graphic subjects, by mean of Computer Aided Drawing tools integrated in the Web. In addition, it aims to speed up the teaching-learning process by allowing all the graphic contents to be studied and evaluated automatically from the Platform, significantly reducing the teacher's workload and providing real-time information on the progress of learning. However, a portal without didactic content contributes very little to learning. Therefore, this project also tries to complete the e-learning platform with a wide and varied collection of open educational resources that allow any user accessing the Portal to develop skills in this field.

Activities

In order to improve technical and digital skills in the field of Technical Drawing and Graphic Representation Systems a series of activities have been developed: 1. Analysis of the status of e-learning, in the field of graphical resolution technical subjects and in educational institutions on the European continent. 2. Development of an educational portal for learning and automatic evaluation of contents in the field of Technical Drawing and Graphic Representation Systems. 3. Development of a wide and varied collection of open didactic resources for graphic resolution subjects: Geometric Drawing, Descriptive Geometry, formats, views, cuts, drawing of assemblies and exploded views, workshop drawing, etc. 4. Organisation of training sessions on the use of the Educational Portal developed. 5. Organisation of multiplier events to disseminate and promote the project and the results.

Impact

1. A detailed study about learning of Technical Drawing in the European educational environment. This provided an overview of the contents taught, use of tools and demands of the institutions about these subjects. The report of the study is available on the project's promotion page. 2. An Open-Source Educational Portal that: - Includes Computer Aided Drawing and automatic evaluation tools knowing in real time and accurately the successes and errors of the graphic exercises -Facilitates a student-centred learning, adapting contents, structures and learning strategies -Allows the design of educational materials with tools integrated in the Platform -Guarantees real-time control and monitoring of the evolution of learning, and acquisition of skills and competences -Allows free and universal access, regardless of gender, economic situation or accessibility conditions, thus promoting global social inclusion -Contents a wide collection of educational resources in continuous expansion with the use of the Portal's tools and services 3. A continuous promotion and dissemination of results and achievements facilitating the use of the portal in new institutions and transforming it into a reference in the on-line learning of Technical Drawing.
