▶Objectives
The primary objective of implementing the project was to enhance and promote international competences among students with diverse profiles, with a particular emphasis on using digital tools. One additional goal was to enhance the implementation of international elements into the teaching curriculum. This was pursued through creating material invented by students to students. The integration of digital tools and gamification strategies proved to be effective, serving as motivational and engaging methods for students to acquire intercultural skills and perspectives. Project results made reflect well the goals we had. The student-based approach brought the elements we looked for to the results. We wanted to increase special needs students participation in to European projects and engage them into the project content. We wanted to tie together the range of competences discovered by the students on the process of building the project results. We successfully created the material with the students' input, guided by special needs professionals. Results are accessible and have various options for students of teachers to grasp the topic of internationalization.
▶Activities
We implemented a range of activities aimed at achieving enhanced competences on internationalization, cultural awareness, and development of usage of different digital tools for both students and teachers. We implemented a student-based approach which challenged all the partner organizations to take the topics to the classrooms and develop the first steps for the given content in the everyday teaching. We implemented a total of 4 Learning teaching training actions in which we came together with all the partner schools to transnationally work towards the results at hand. We implemented some pre tasks for the students preparing to travel to the Learning teaching training activities. Bilateral online meetings were set up to conclude the outputs with the teachers and students in the partner consortium. Eventually the biggest impact and productive part was acknowledged to still be the actual mobilities from country another. On these Learning Teaching Training activities students got experience-based learning for creating the material related to not only travelling, but cultural differences and social skills. LTTS provided the reality of travelling and concretized the competences needed. The integration of modern technologies promotes a more accessible and engaging learning experience, breaking barriers for students with diverse learning requirements. In the project the digital tools enabled us to show and share ideas for gaining new competences digitally. We did game creation and development, introducing new digital tools such as Genially and Book creator. These activities collectively aimed at fostering internationalization, enhancing cultural awareness, and providing valuable tools and resources for both students and teachers. Specific attention given to supporting and evaluating SEN students in partner countries, with the development of actions and tools for learning about internationality.
▶Impact
We created a digital Seppo-game, studymodule materials online, and dictionary part which can be used also separately in paper version. We created a wide hand book section which outlines our project results and sums up the pedagogical and technical aspects of all the results. In addition we created a concrete journaling booklet and templates, all accessible and ready to use. We have the Mobility journal in all the project languages and of course in English. The project results planned we produced and implemented. Some changes to the original plan was made, on the other hand some of the results overcame our expectations. One of the biggest changes reflecting to the application was that we did not use ThingLink as a platform for the project results. In the end it was more sustainable to create a website with the existing material links, the website belonging to the coordinator's domain ensures the accessibly and sustainability for the results (https://luovi.fi/tfit/). The outputs and concrete results: 1. Development of the 'Connecting Europe' -Online game on SEPPO platform - Creation of an interactive and engaging online game designed with and to students to motivate peers to internationalization. - Gamification elements incorporated to intercultural skills and provide an international perspective. - Live Vocational College leading the development and ensuring future access to Seppo platform. Partners contributing by creating material and piloting the game. Connecting Europe online game: https://luovi.fi/connecting-europe/ 2. 'Mobility-ability' Study Module: - Development of a comprehensive study module focused on enhancing students' abilities in the context of international mobility. Actions for teachers to implement in the classroom. - content to improve language skills with a new kind of dictionary. - Lead and implemented by Gureak with partners piloting and participating to the creation. English language part organized and lead by Cirius, contributed by each partner with creating material and piloting. Mobility-ability Study Module: https://luovi.fi/mobility-ability/ 3. Mobility Handbooks: - handbooks containing valuable information and resources for students and staff involved in international mobility. - Practical guidance with technical guidelines on how to use the project results -led by Learning digital, partners participating on reflection and creating the material. LD had a big role in harmonizing the videos and all the guidelines and templates of the project results. Mobility Handbooks: https://luovi.fi/mobility-ability-handbook/ 4. Mobility Journal: - Creation of an online journal to document and reflect on experiences related to international mobility. Also a tool with guidelines to give advice generally on journaling. - Encouragement of self-reflection and the sharing of insights among students and staff. - Led by atempo, all the partners participating in creation translations, and piloting of the journals. These results are contributed by partners focusing the project's goals, ensuring a holistic and impactful approach to internationalization in education. By implementing the project for students with special needs, we achieved several significant outcomes that have positively impacted their educational experience and development for various competences. Mobility journal: https://luovi.fi/mobility-journal/ The project has contributed to the creation of a more inclusive learning environment by providing teachers and staff with knowledge and tools for the effective evaluation and support of students with special needs. This ensures that the learning experience is tailored to the individual needs of the students, fostering a sense of belonging and equal participation. In a practical way we are happy that especially the Mobility journal results offers solutions and tips on how to support different students in self-expression. This is particularly for students with special needs, as it empowers them to communicate their thoughts, ideas, and feelings effectively. Through the utilization of tools and methods, these students have been given a platform to express themselves in a manner that they feel comfortable with. Through the project's emphasis on flexible teamwork, social competences, and creative thinking, students have experienced an improvement in self-confidence and motivation. This can be justified through the feedback questionnaires answered by the students.
