WAKE UP The Environment is suffering and Our health is getting worse.
▶Summary
1) Our environment is suffering due to reckless human activities (deforestration, pollution) and it is urgently stated in "EU' 2030 goals for environment. 2) In these points 4 partners intended to commit to a project dealing with healthy lifestyle and environmental protection because similar negative lifestyles and similar recless human activities were observed among our pupils. This project was the result of "Healthy life and Environment Questionnary" that 4 project partners applied to measure the level of healty living of their pupils (8-15 aged) According to questionnary results, almost % 50 of them did not eat healthy- organic food but mostly junk food and almost % 60 of them did not want to take part in Environmental Volunteer Work. 3) Our pupils needed not only to learn school subjects but also to had understanding of how their lifestyle would influence their future world. Our pupils were in lack of knowledge about how important to protect environment and to have ecological production of food and drink. 4) The rate of early school leaving decreased from 13.4% in 2011 to 10.2% in 2019 across Europe but there was much work to be done to reduce this rate in next years. For all these reasons we applied for this project.
▶Objectives
As 4 partners we intended to commit to a project dealing with healthy lifestyle and environmental protection because we wanted to improve more knowledge and consciousness about healthy nutrition and environment to achieve "Health policy of Europe 2020" and "EU' 2030 goals with environment"for smart and inclusive growth in EU. We aimed to get professional development of all teachers and pupils in ICT (digital and language skills) by means of project based activites and tackle with early school leaving. We tried to increase degrees from %50 to %80 for healthy nutrition and from %60 to %80 for Environmental Volunteer Work. We also wanted to increase EU cooperation, the quality of education on international level and to promote approximately 8 teachers in partner schools to carry out EU projects on E-twinning platforms. So we started to a new Etwinning project called " Equality and Respect and we still continue the project. We selected pupils whose school success average under 60 points to tackle with early school leaving by help of project activities. And these pupils wanted to take part in new E- twinning project too. We paid attention to personal and interpersonal development of all : socialization, collaboration and teamwork
▶Activities
We had 3 LTT activities in our project. 1) LTT - Digital tools seminar (Web 2.0, E-Twinning platform- Webinars, other digital tools) for partner teachers to enrich their classroom environment by digital platforms to motivate low grade pupils for learning and to tackle with early school leaving in long term. 2) LTT- Recycling seminar for better -green world and recycling craft items workshop designed by all participant teachers and host school. The partner teachers had Recycling seminar for 3 days in Sweden. Partner teachers visited Waste and Recycling factory which is to learn how Swedish people use waste for electricity and heat supply in the whole country. We joined in an online seminar about the processes of how waste is turned into heat and electricity in the city by a researcher expert in Waste Science and Technology at Luleå University of Technology 3) LTT -Writing Final Report and Traditional Healthy Recipe e-Booklet - Workshop.
