Summary

In France new educational programmes insist on the oral and written skills as well as the use of numerical systems, together with active learning (thus teaching too by doing projects). The aim of French education is to make students acquire skills in relation to mobility, culture and citizenship as well as a longlife self training. Our school curriculum develops English as a foreign language in relation to written comprehension, written expression, oral comprehension and oral expression. In order to help students with their English and professional skills (in security especially) and we have participated in many Etwinning projects. Moreover in France the PIX platform is designed to certify students' digital skills. Students of 3PP, Tle CAP and Tle Bac Pro will have to pass a certification this year. Our problem Status: how to motivate students in a vocational high school and learn English(EFL) differently,i.e. “learning by doing” with hybrid education using STEAM (especially in COVID times). Moreover climate changes and needs students and people's awareness in order to try to find solutions. That's why we've opted for the creation of an experimental learning garden with a solar watering system in order to palliate climate change

Objectives

The expected impact is the exchange of good practices and improvement of the awareness about the topic of the water, the motivation about the need of clean water and of a plan to use this water properly. The expected impact on the target groups is the change in participants’ minds and motivating the students to create their own campaigns. Students will start think more about the problem and will try to find solution. As activities will lay out in a transnational level teachers will realize that other people are facing similar problems like them and these problems can be solved by dialogue and exchanging of good practices among European colleagues. Students on the other hand will interact with many foreign students and this will help them understand the variety of types, characters, cultures that composes the beauty of our world. Furthermore their success in outdoor activities helps their confidence and self-esteem. All partners will continue to implement some of the activities in their schools after the project’s end. Especially the coordinator will continue to implement the new outdoor learning activities in order the local community will be benefited. Furthermore the plan will develop volunteering locally and abroad.

Activities

Local and mobility activities in each country. Creation of a Facebook project group and of an Etwinning project. https://twinspace.etwinning.net/208307/home. Collection of information and file on Google Drive. Promotion articles on our school websites and open days. Video conferences and selection of students for mobilities. Project logo creation and selection. Local activities around water and videos. World water day challenges (clepsydra, rain sticks, water surveys, etc) LTTA1 – Water: dangers and solutions (security training) LTTA2 – Health and water – Perspectives, Physical Education, Biology. LTTA3 – The water’s science – Science, Biology, Maths Participation to Code Week, Dosomething.org actions (5 minutes shower playlist), Erasmus Days (events) and European Languages day, as well as other international days in relation to the environment (Earth Hour, Earth Day, World Ocean Day, World Clean-up day, Green_up day, World environment day, etc) French students have created a special video on safety in water, made collaborative work on water sewage with another French (primary) school, made a partnership with a local association to create a learning garden with a solar irrigation system to be exported abroad.

Impact

Concrete and visible results through local activities and mobilties, through our school websites and Etwinning project (https://twinspace.etwinning.net/208307/home. ); moreover on our Facebook page. Different videos were created as well as games , surveys, etc and many photos were published on social networks. Real links are created outside the school; for example for France with another school and a local association "La Boussole Franche Comté" and our experimental learning garden is a concrete means to tackle watering problems in the whole world, trying to find solutions , i.e. with our solar irrigation system which can be exported abroad.
