The LandSea Project

The LandSea project was developed based on the shared observation among transnational stakeholders of a lack of capacity within territories and their actors to valorize traditional land and sea activities. Faced with the increasing aging of professionals in fishing and aquaculture sectors and the low attractiveness of these jobs, it was necessary to enhance the skills of young people and actors in land and sea sectors to foster innovation and the creation of new revenue-generating activities. The project aimed to develop innovative training content enabling these audiences to jointly valorize both sea and land products, so that they could become mentors, local ambassadors, or even local heritage resource persons for these regional products.

*Enhance the capacities of young people and local actors, focusing on the joint valorization of traditional land and sea activities. *Improve promotion and engagement in territories by fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and the creation of new revenue-generating activities in both maritime and land-based professions. *Enhance local territorial animation by involving a greater number of individuals in local projects and by training territorial animators, valorizing productions through short supply chains. *Promote the cultural diversity of the European Union and the employability of young people by highlighting maritime and agricultural heritage. *Enhance the knowledge of actors in land and sea sectors in the use of ICT.

*Creation of training content covering topics such as green and blue economy, sustainable development, circular economy, environmental issues, entrepreneurship, sustainable marketing, available funds and financing, cooperation, and territorial dynamics. *Development of self-assessment tools. *Implementation of a 3-day training workshop in Sofia, Bulgaria, to equip 14 future mentors to become local facilitators capable of initiating joint land-sea valorization approaches in their territories. *Creation of the LandSea guide providing a methodology for setting up LandSea discovery circuits. *Organization of a pilot participatory workshop in each territory with at least 5 mentors resulting in the setup of a pilot land-sea circuit. *Design and development of a LandSea online learning platform. *Implementation of numerous valorization actions for the project generating multiplier effects beyond the participating organizations at local, regional, national, and European levels.

R1: LandSea training program enabling individuals to learn how to valorize land-sea products in their own territory directly linked to local productions for the development of sustainable commercial strategies with higher added value. R2: LandSea methodological guide for the joint valorization of land and sea local products, particularly through the organization of circuits and diversification of activities via tourism. This methodological guide is based on a participatory approach and allows actors to highlight the assets of their territory and to reach out to any interested parties to join the initiative. R3: LandSea online learning platform - interactive and practical, enabling self-paced learning and valorization of acquired skills through a certification system.
