Home and Overseas Project management Excellence
▶Summary
The HOPE (Home and Overseas Project management Excellence) project focuses on the skills of coordinators of European or international development projects. Its aim was to share these skills betwee...
▶Objectives
The HOPE project has made it possible to define and enhance the skills of development project coordinators at European level, and to strengthen them through the introduction of innovative training courses. It has made it possible to reach agreement at European level on a common definition of the profession and its skills, and to prioritise them. It has identified training needs to compensate for the absence or inadequacy of certain skills. In this way, the HOPE project is helping to adapt vocational training to the needs of the labour market and will strengthen the partnership between companies (or employing associations) and training establishments.
▶Activities
To achieve these objectives, the following activities have been implemented. Each activity corresponds to a result: - Creation of a multilingual glossary in 4 languages (English, Spanish, French and Portuguese) of terms related to the different types of project and the main skills involved in project coordination. This lexicon facilitated exchanges between the partners throughout the assignment and the implementation of other project activities. - Carrying out a European study on the skills required to coordinate development projects in the 3 partner countries on 2 levels (skills expected and used) - The project made it possible to create a common reference framework, adapted to the different contexts of the partner countries and taking into account changes in the professions and the results of the study. - Drawing up training specifications. On the basis of the previous intellectual productions, the partnership has identified a theme and pedagogical objectives for the training. - Drafting of a training manual intended for trainers, served as a support for the training. - Testing a training course (face tot face) brought together existing coordinators and trainees on professional training courses - creation of on-line training
