WATER 4 ALL – WATER 4 LIFE – WATER 4 THE FUTURE
▶Summary
TThe motif of the project was to encourage a global partnership, therefore 3 schools from Hungary, Serbia and Turkey established the partnership. We determined the objectives together. The main aim was to raise awareness in connection with climate change and turn our ideas into actions. We wanted to have an effect on our future related to water consumption. We wanted to increase the interest in science, cultural differences, and creativity. We wanted to strengthen the knowledge of English and other languages too (Hungarian, Serbian and Turkish). We wanted to stand as a good example and set-up more Water Friendly Schools all over Europe. The LTTAs were organized according to these needs. LTTA3, LTTA4, LTTA5 were face to face student exchange meetings. LTTA1, LTTA2 were virtual exchange meetings.
▶Objectives
The participating organizations focused on the students, the local communities about the importance of water and reminded them that for the future we all need it to survive. To reach objectives, students took part in the activities related to the project. They created posters, PPTs, films about local water supplies, they explored the places where different kinds of water sports activities could be done in the nearby area, they made surveys and questionnaires to their neighborhood community. The students were engaged in setting campaigns in their neighborhoods to increase people's cognizance of the importance of the usage of the water in an irresponsible way.They made leaflets, cards and more. Teachers and students together became aware of the incompetent usage of water in their communities and schools in order to locate options for creating their school water. During the exchanges, they learnt about water during the lessons, took part in physical activities (eg water sports), they had workshops.
▶Activities
During the project all the participants worked locally and made research and shared the ideas about the topics and collaborated via LLTAs. The collaboration took place on eTwinning and in personal conferences for the period of learning / teaching / training activities. LTTA 1 - Water through the ages - literature, art, tales; - (LTTA3) LTTA 2 - Water and the healthy way of living – Biology and PE (Virtual LTTA) (LTTA2) LTTA 3 - Water and Science - Geography, Mathematics, Science (LTTA 4) LTTA 4 – The future of water - excessive consumption, pollution. Ecological campaigns (LTTA 5) LTTA 5 - Making our schools sustainable water users (Virtual LTTA) (LTTA 1) For practical reasons we changed the order of the LTTAs and first virtual meetings were carried out and then the personal meetings. Because of the earthquake of Adana, Türkiye in February, 2023 we delayed the LTTA 4 for the last one. This change did not have an influence on handling the budget or the results of the project.
▶Impact
Schools gained popularity with the help of the pupils and instructors in community problems and trying to increase attention about nearby problems that can affect the pleasant of life. Schools set examples of eco-friendliness and offered alterns for water saving and forced people to think of the future. The results were presented on ESEP, school website, Erasmus+ project results, local and social media. Presentactions, Games, Posters, Surveys, Campaign, educational materials were made and displayed in the participating schools. Cultural knowledge was increased via personal and virtual meetings (language exchange, visiting local places, sights ). Local water sources were visited in Niska-Banja, Adana and Pétervására and the participants learnt about the local work. Teachers exchange knowledge related to educational materials (robotics, science teaching, using teaching materials like WEB 2.0) The participants planted the importance of "Save the water for their youngsters" Schools made efforts to be water-friendly eco schools and established local rules for it.
