โ–ถSummary

The project was driven by a strategic blend of academic, institutional, and societal motivations. The project aligned with the institutions' strategic goals, particularly in research and education...

โ–ถObjectives

Formally the project aimed at diverse goals such as researching the societal impact of AI, creating educational content and developing a curriculum for broad audiences. Informally the project prioritized strengthening partner collaboration, fostering personal, professional, and research cooperation, and providing opportunities for participant personal development beyond the project's duration. Central to the project's focus was the exploration of future AI applications, encouraging critical thinking, and bridging the gap between social science and technology engineering in the context of AI's transformative landscape. Enriching trainings and providing accessible AI resources, were considered highly relevant. The project aimed to inform both higher education audiences and the broader public about the transformative impact of AI on various aspects of life. Specific objectives included establishing Hedy's theoretical framework, offering an AI-focused MOOC, collecting versatile tools, and providing guidelines for optimal asset usage. The goal was to create a solid foundation for broader community usability, offering open educational resources in AI-related topics, understanding and navigating the evolving impact of AI.

โ–ถActivities

The HEDY project, despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, successfully operated in a virtual environment. The partnership devised project products, established oversight frameworks, and implemented documentation systems. Adopting a systematic approach, collaborative efforts were emphasized, ensuring meticulous planning and execution of activities for generating project outcomes. Deviation from initial plans resulted in the successful production of a joint publication, strategically aligned with virtually held project kickoff meetings. This adjustment allowed for a more effective synchronization of personal meetings with the project's progress. Beyond substantive components, the partnership diligently carried out administrative, organizational and quality assurance activities, ensuring seamless implementation and upholding a high professional standard for outcomes. The partners organized Transnational Project Meetings and Multiplier events to ensure the visibility of the efforts made, and ensure the highest quality of development across five main areas. These activities, anticipated in the project work program, encompassed leadership in toolkit development, research, group interviews, short documentary production, and participation in validation workshops and multiplier events. The partnership's comprehensive approach ensured the successful realization of project goals across diverse activities and areas of focus.

โ–ถImpact

The HEDY project yielded four distinct results, showcasing a comprehensive and multilingual approach to understanding the societal impact of artificial intelligence. The informative booklet, derived from thorough research, provided a current societal perception of AI, serving as a foundation for subsequent project phases and needs assessment. The informative booklet presents the current societal perception of artificial intelligence based on our research. This booklet served as the groundwork for the subsequent phases of the project, facilitating needs assessment and identifying detailed content elements to be presented later. The toolkit, comprising significant cinematic works and short presentations on AI's societal impacts, offered a comprehensive overview and educational resource. The toolkit encompasses the most significant cinematic works related to artificial intelligence, providing a comprehensive overview. In addition, the product includes short presentations highlighting the key societal impacts of artificial intelligence. A Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) electronic curriculum vividly illustrated AI's societal impact, primarly designed for university students but suitable for diverse audiences. A guide detailing the HEDY project, outlining possible applications of various result products, enhancing accessibility and understanding. The guide offers a comprehensive overview of the HEDY project, detailing the possible applications of various result products. A distinctive feature of our project was the predefined allocation of content areas for each partner while creating different result products - Industry 4.0, governance, education, health, and the economy. All result products were developed in a total of seven languages. Additionally, the HEDY project established a website, making results easily accessible. The products, available in seven languages, encompass Bulgarian, Catalan, English, German, Hungarian, Spanish, and Portuguese. Multiplier events, validation workshops, and active participation in project meetings were key components of the project's activities. The collaborative efforts resulted in actionable and impactful outcomes, fostering a deeper understanding of AI's societal implications across diverse areas and linguistic communities.
