▶Objectives
Having the opportunity to be able to increase our expertise regarding adult learning was the main intent we wanted to achieve. The initial part of WP2 geared toward the creation of the toolkit, involved several phases of study, reading, and analysis. This allowed the team working with the partner, to discuss the topic of training with adults, and skills development in their respective countries. Subsequently, there was reasoning on the choice of the most appropriate exercises for the assessment of problem solving, creative thinking and critical thinking competence. This was followed by a careful analysis of the most appropriate survey instruments and methodologies. Finally, the part on MOOC implementation and promotion gave us an opportunity to explore unconventional ways of transmitting knowledge based on audiovisual forms of learning. The possibility of doing research, video and audio to transmit knowledge would not have been possible without the implementation of PLACE and funding from the Erasmus+ program.
▶Impact
The project outputs were: the toolkit and the MOOC. The first was developed first with the reading analysis phase and then with a testing and implementation phase of about 50 participants between Italy and Cyprus. Following this, a massive open online course (MOOC) was produced, i.e., a set of explanatory videos of up to 5 minutes in length, in which the historical evolution of the learning-to-learn competence was explained, how to use the toolkit and exercises, how to evaluate the results, and how to use these tools in one's own work with those doing training. One of the results achieved concerned the possibility of activating on the ground and between us and training organizations comparisons on the topic of lifelong learning and its future challenges: of the transformation of training venues, the increase and presence of digital training platforms (Youtube, TikTok, Vimeo, Mooc, etc.), from new more fluid ways of learning especially among younger people.
