Objectives

The ICE project proposed to: -develop a learning model on Civic Education issues aimed at adults in order to develop basic skills in civic topics; -use informal and interactive methodologies to introduce adults to lifelong learning; -create innovative, current and useful content for the community on the civic issues of Justice, Environment, Health and Economy for educators and trainers -create innovative, current and useful content for the community on the civic issues of Justice, Environment, Health and Economy for adults -actively involve adults and elderly people in intergenerational inclusion paths - valorise places of local popular culture and education -develop new networks on environmental, health, legal and economic issues -promote international mobility -encourage local and international civic networks

Activities

The Project has implemented activities of: Production of innovative Educational materials such as: - TOOLKIT on the basic competences necessary for adults in Civic Education, to understand the Health, Economic, Environmental and Legal Systems, translated into 5 languages: English, Italian, Greek, Spanish and German - OERs, Open Educational Resources on Justice, Economy, Health and Environment topics, for a total of 12 OERs on Civic Education and teaching for adults - CIVIC GAME , a paper board game on Civic Education with simple questions cards to reach large public, -ICE project website as a repository of the materials and activities carried out and an area for disseminating the results and Informal and Non- formal learning activities such as: - Face-to-face COURSES on Justice, Health, Financial Education and Environmental Education topics, with a local and European perspective. The courses were held in the associative meeting places of citizens, clubs, after work, which are not only spaces for aggregation but also laboratories of civic citizenship and intercultural encounters .-International mobility of staff and learners in Germany to learn about socialization centres, compare education systems and compare non-formal and informal learning methods linked to learning civic sense through visits to places of memory and thematic in-depth workshops - Educational visits to institutions, associations, cooperatives to learn about places and community stakeholders - Events to disseminate results in itinerant, intergenerational and workshop formats - Creation of local and international NETWORKS of actors, associations and institutions committed to the issues of civic engagement in our communities

Impact

The Results produced by the project were tangible and intangible. TANGIBLE: -TOOLKIT on civic skills for adults, European good practices, national case studies, local Civic Education networks, for educators and learners - Face-to-face COURSES at the Association clubs on the topics of Justice, Health, Financial Education and Environmental Education, - CIVIC GAME, 500 cardboard game boxes on Civics and adults learning issues -12 OERs, online courses on Justice, Economy, Healthcare and the Environment topics, in Open format, - local and international NETWORKS of actors, associations and institutions committed to the issues of civic engagement of natives and non-natives in our communities -MOBILITY of learning adults to learn about education systems in other nations - WEBSITE dedicated to the project as a repository of learning paths and products NON TANGIBLE Results: - Deepen the themes of democratic participation through an INTERGENERATIONAL approach - Respond to the NEEDS of adults and elderly people to update themselves on the key issues of local and national regulatory, financial, environmental and health systems, how they work and how to orient themselves in the area -Know the PLACES, organizations, institutions, witnesses and actors that constitute and animate our communities -Develop INFORMAL learning tools and methods such as educational visits, memory walks, thematic excursions, interviews with relevant witnesses, active participation in seminars, the use of board games, the use of new technologies to stimulate and involve the beneficiaries of the actions - using an active and participatory methodology - valorize basic associations such as CENTERS of learning, production of culture and civic sense - RAISE citizens' awareness of participating in activities in person, remotely or through board games, on the topics of the Environment, Legality, Economy and Health -COMPARE national systems, tools and practices of civic participation in Italy, Spain, Austria, Cyprus and Germany.
