Green Youth in Action

Each invididual does not choose in which country to be born, but we were all born with the same opportunities, and how we respect nature depends only on us. Through this project we wanted to teach our students that we can achieve this only if we have self-knowledge and a tendency to experiment - you need to know who you are, what you are good at, what your values are, what are your powers on nature, on our common earth. 2019 and 2020 were among the warmest years ever recorded and carbon dioxide levels and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere continue increasing despite Climate changes due to pollution are affecting every country on every continent. They are disrupting national economies and affecting people's lives. Although the big powers of the world meet to take decisions in order to lower greenhouse gas emissions, their resolutions are far from being realized now and are only temporary. Climate changes are not on pause. Through this project, we made our students take the first step not only towards their own clean future, but also towards the well-being of the community.

Disseminate project results at local, regional, national, international level to inspire the others, share experiences, learnt from each other and together, exchange ideas and good practises, overcome language barriers, develop skills and competences, develop critical and analytical thinking skills, learn good practices, talk and communicate with people, trying to show them good practices with the enthusiasm and joy of youth, use digital resources and create learning products, create opportunities for young people to learn what trust, communication, successful leadership, problem solving and self-confidence are, things that cannot be learnt from textbooks, accumulate life experience through contact with partners, with European material and cultural phenomena, develop interpersonal and communication skills, teamwork, negotiation and organizational skills, learn values such as tolerance, respect and acceptance of people from different countries and of people who have a different culture.

Students learnt how to make clothes and jewels from wholly recycled materials and how to clean a beach to increase environmental awareness in Turkey They visited the Ethnography Museum and the Alaaddin Mosque and Madrasa, Erfelek waterfall and Bektaşağa lake in Sinop. They learnt how to do organic meals and about seasonal crops and farming techniques or irrigation systems that respect the environment in Spain. They learnt how to plant new trees and how to rescue people in Romania. They learnt how to collect materials and separate them and how to create fashion dresses in Turkey and Bulgaria. Students visited the National Natural History Museum and Earth and Man National Museum (EMNM) https://www.earthandman.org in Sofia, the Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Water, a factory for dairy production in Vratsa, They played International football, obstacle course, relay, volleyball, tug of war, tennis, sports games, the history museum, Slănic Moldova - Târgu Ocna, Greening the Slanic river, eating Organic food, prepared by a campfire, Tourist orientation, techniques for survival in the forest, techniques for providing medical assistance, in case of an accident on the mountain and a Workshop 'The benefits of sport and a healthy diet and visited to the Museum of Natural Sciences in Romania. They visited the Heinz Nixdorf Institute, the biggest computer museum, the exhibition “The Fragile Paradise' a water treatment plant and made the Workshop “Generating energy with windmills” and made waterskiing and beach sport activities in Germany They visited requalified places: Carditello Palace, Dulcis in Fundo and Nuova Cucina Organizzata, managed by impaired people and learnt what harm microplastics do in Italy with two workshops in Ecoparco del Mediterraneo in Castel Volturno. They visited the Museum of paper in Amalfi and made paper themselves. During all the LTTs, students were shown how to fill in a Europass cv. Students developed critical and analytical thinking skills. They developed interpersonal and communication skills, teamwork, negotiation and organizational skills. They learnt values such as tolerance, respect and acceptance of people from different countries and of people who have a different culture. Teachers had the opportunity to exchange good practices, ideas and teaching methods. The institutions involved strengthened their cooperation with other European schools and gained more experience in carrying out Erasmus + projects.

Students prepared six videos on eating healthy, six videos on how to be smart users, six videos on renewable energies (Hydro Energy – Türkiye, Wind Energy - Spain, Solar Energy – Bulgaria, Biomass Energy – Romania, Geothermal Energy - Italy (ex. video from Spain https://view.genial.ly/6519b5bf0b392c00118c91b3/presentation-presentacion-basica)), a newsletter for each LTT, Italy realized a collection of the videos prepared by the students of each partner school, showing how to practically work together to help the planet with subtitles. Germany realized a booklet with instructions on methods to produce renewable energy in 6 languages. Spain realized a recipe book in 6 languages from the recipes students prepared during the LTT in Spain. Romania realized a virtual album with photos of nature with captions in 6 languages.
