โ–ถSummary

Driven by Europe's rising multimorbidity challenge (50M+ affected), PABSEM tackled healthcare concerns and social inequities faced by elderly individuals with multiple chronic illnesses. Led by Saules Stygos and partners, it aimed to create inclusive environments and empower this vulnerable group. The project strategically targeted elderly multimorbid individuals with fewer opportunities, focusing on enhancing their living standards. A core approach was leveraging technolog, crucial for improving quality of life and reducing depression. PABSEM fostered collaboration between local learning centers, researcher. empowering seniors with essential life skills and competencies. Therapist development was also prioritized, ensuring skilled support for multimorbid individuals. Outcomes were multifaceted, contributing to reduced healthcare expenditures, personalized wellness applications, and improved mental health. Importantly, social inclusion, a key project goal, also saw significant progress. PABSEM addressed the European challenge by focusing on social inclusion, and skilled therapist development. This improved the lives of vulnerable individuals and responded to broader societal needs amidst rising healthcare costs and challenges.

โ–ถObjectives

Our project tackled burnout in disadvantaged individuals with multiple chronic illnesses. Partnering with NGOs, an education center, and a university, we aimed to create lasting solutions with local, national, and EU impact. *Positive Outcomes for Participants: * Shared therapy gains boosted peer motivation and life perspectives. * Erasmus+ awareness increased among disadvantaged elderly. * Reduced depression symptoms and reliance on sleeping pills. * Improved physical health led to fewer doctor visits and medication use. * Enhanced self-esteem and communication skills. *Partner Institutions Benefits: * PABSEM theory, methods, and competencies integrated into therapy, ensuring sustainability, prestige, and economic gains. * Recognition as regional models and strengthened international cooperation. * Increased visibility and integration of new skills into institutional plans. * Skills aligned with the European Qualifications Framework for seamless integration. * Increased professional knowledge, communication skills, and support for sustainability. * Learning and application of PABSEM sub-disciplines. The multifaceted PABSEM approach has empowered individuals, strengthened institutions and paved the way for sustainable solutions.

โ–ถActivities

a) 5 TPM took place in Lithuania, Poland, Italy, Turkey and the Netherlands e) 4 evaluation questionnaires, e-newsletter, targeted meetings, and communication strategies f) EPALE articles have been published as a continuation of dissemination activities of the R1 and then at the end of R2. g) Social Media Strategy; Corporate Identity Design; and Risk Management Plan have been written and approved. h) A website is set up to host information on the project's objectives, partners, and results. (www.asterion.altervista.org). i) 2 results have been realized R1 (Introducing the interdisciplinary PABSEM Theory ) and R2 (Publishing manual books and e-books to increase the quality of life of multimorbid individuals) l) internal workshops; Intellectual Property Applications; and Experience Sharing studies have been made. j) Data have been shared on PABSEM's Facebook and Twitter accounts

โ–ถImpact

Three types of actions were planned in our project to improve the quality of life of multimorbid individuals over 65. In this context, the overall aim of the project was to improve the quality of life of elderly multimorbid individuals through alternative approaches to burnout syndromes. The main activities made were: a) 5 transnational project meetings b) creation of 2 main results c) one International Symposium in Poland + one multiplier event in Turkey Key Achievements: Needs Analysis: Deep understanding of multimorbid individuals' unique challenges across countries. Knowledge Sharing: Online platform fostering collaboration and best practice exchange. Rigorous Evaluation: Data-driven approach ensuring project effectiveness and continuous improvement. Comprehensive Communication: Broad audience engagement through diverse channels. Impact Measurement: Pre-post testing gauging interventions' success for different settings. GDPR Compliance: Stringent data protection measures safeguarding participant privacy. Dissemination Strategy: Social media and digital platforms maximizing project visibility. Scholarly Contribution: Published articles enriching knowledge on multimorbidity and PABSEM. Firsthand Perspectives: Interviews with individuals and social workers providing valuable insights. Long-Term Sustainability: Monitoring and evaluation framework for ongoing refinement. PABSEM goes beyond project results, offering practical tools and a deeper understanding to improve the lives of multimorbid individuals. This collaborative effort stands as a model for addressing complex health challenges effectively.
