Summary

We applied for this project because young professionals are entering general education institutions, but their number is insufficient. Competitive salaries, good working conditions and career development opportunities may have attracted young people to teaching in some countries or helped to retain effective teachers in others. Within project we planned to found out needs of novice teachers, good practices in national country and 4 neighbouring countries, proposals, to organize discussions with stakeholders, to prepare hanbook for novice teachers, recommendations for various levels stakeholder, to support policy makers and implementers with framework, videos with whom attract novice teachers to education system and keep them, to support renewing of teachers professionals generation with supporting novice teachers. Also this project gives additional capacity for trade unions in discussions with education ministries related novice teachers. Trade unions can generate more proposals based on needs analyses and international experience, networking, EU level visions.

Objectives

We wanted to develop support system framework for novice teachers based on their needs and stakeholders visions and to support education policy makers and implementers, novice teachers with information, tools and methods for improvement of support system for novice teachers. By this project we reached planned results, also strenghened trade union novice teacher voice, builded networking, showed international experience and mainly - showed them that novice teachers are important to trade unions, to educational ministries and society as hole. We trully believe that we raised also selfesttem to many of novice teachers those who participated in project activites, even by filling questionnaire, they felt that they are important and stakeholders are interested in their needs and want to support them in issues which are important for them.

Activities

We implemented project activities as planned by project proposal. 1)We developed of 4 country reports about needs of novice teachers in each country, existing support tools, legislation, policy, challenges, best practices, opportunities, conclusions, proposals for support system of novice teachers, in ENG (for sharing our practices, situation abroad and to partners) and translated to national language: LT, LV, CZ, PL; 2) Developed comparative analyses on best practices, challenges, opportunities in ENG; 3) Developed framework for support system for novice teacher which will includes models: Model 1: Intervention on operative level; Model 2: Intervention on legislative level; Model 3: Path for the future and annexes to organize consultations with stakeholders in ENG,LT, LV, CZ, PL; 4) We organizing national stakeholders discussions about different new models reaching a lot of times higher participants than planned; 5) We have developed digital handbook for novice teachers covering themes about duties and rights of teacher, social dialogue, the role of teachers in the future, soft skills, working environment with digital tools where they can gain international experience, problems of situation of teachers in 4 countries and well their country. In one place they can get answers in many topics that are interested by them. Gain experience, improve and adjust to their school level. 6) development of training course 'Professionally supported novice teacher' where within 3 day training of at 51 (higher number!) trainers were trained. 7) more than 51 participant gained international experience of 4 countries, shared their problems, visions, generated solutions for school level, municipal level, national level to support novice teachers 8) each partner organized training of course 'Professionally supported novice teacher' for at least 20 novice teachers in each country thus supporting novice teachers directly with information gathered in handbook. 9) each partner videos covering theme 'The future prestige of the profession is in the hands of a professionally supported new teacher!' in each country in national language to actualize needs and challeanges of novice teachers. 10) policy recommendations for support system for novice teacher at local, national and EU level, and country specific recommendations were developed and presented to national stakeholders, Recommendations are prepared in ENG,LT, LV, CZ, PL; 11) Dissemination activities: at least 12 project promotional events: 7 discussions, 1 final conference, 5 trainings, prepared and distributed 4 project newsletters. 12) There are made more than 40 publications in social media about projects' activities thus attracting attention of press for novice teachers needs and challeanges. 13) within project is made 10 project partners meetings (including steering board meetings). Partners have organized transnational partners meetings in Prague, Vilnius, Riga. 14) a lot of national meetings for implementing the project, organizing at least 3 dissemination events per country, comunication about project in bureau meetings, governing board meetings of partners organizations and outside partnerships sharing unique experience possibility in Erasmus+ project.

Impact

Prepared poject results are: 1) 4 country reports about needs of novice teachers in each country, existing support tools, legislation, policy, challenges, best practices, opportunities, conclusions, proposals for support system of novice teachers prepared each in ENG and translated to national language: LT, LV, CZ, PL; 2) Comparative analyses on best practices, challenges, opportunities of novice teachers support systems in 4 countries in ENG; 3) Framework for support system for novice teacher which includes models: Model 1: Intervention on operative level; Model 2: Intervention on legislative level; Model 3: Path for the future and tools for organizing disscussions with stakeholders in ENG,LT, LV, CZ, PL; 4) Digital handbook for novice teachers covering themes about duties and rights of teacher, social dialogue in 4 project countries, the role of teachers in the future, soft skills, working environment with digital tools in ENG,LT, LV, CZ, PL; 5) Training course 'Professionally supported novice teacher' which consist of presentations about content of handbook; 6) 7 videos covering theme 'The future prestige of the profession is in the hands of a professionally supported new teacher!' (2 in LV, 2 in LT, 2 in Cz, 1 in PL) 7) Policy recommendations for support system for novice teacher at local, national and EU level, and country specific recommendations in ENG,LT, LV, CZ, PL; 8)4 project newsletters and at least 40 publications in social media, recorded conference in Latvian about support for novice teachers in lenght of 4 hours.
