Our overarching objective is to enhance the inclusion of individuals with a migration background in need of care. This involves shaping health and care systems that understand and cater to cultural disparities, ensuring suitable care and treatment for those with varied cultural beliefs and behaviors. This goal entails equipping health and care workers with the right skills to provide quality care to patients/clients of any ethnic origin. The target group comprises health and care workers who work with individuals from a migration background. The benificaries are those individuals with a migration background who require care. The specific objectives of our CULTSENSE project include: To develop an educational blueprint that promotes culturally sensitive care for health and care workers dealing with elderly individuals of a migratory background. To foster a cohort of 10 health and care providers who've completed the experimental pathway, acquiring crucial insights to deliver appropriate care to elderly migrants. To make a proposal for a sucessor project in the joined Partnership program
▶Activities
Our project implemented several activities. We held Transnational Meetings for regular discussions and decision-making, ensuring effective project implementation. We organized Learning & Training activities for knowledge sharing and experience exchange, fostering understanding of cultural sensitivity in healthcare. We also worked on creating an educational pathway blueprint, providing a structured learning program for healthcare workers. Dissemination activities were carried out to publicize our work and contribute to broader conversations on culturally sensitive care. Finally, to ensure sustainability, we initiated a proposal for a follow-up project to further enhance the skills of healthcare workers in culturally diverse settings. The budget was allocated more or less equally over the partners and so was their reuired input. All three partners were involved in all project meetings, having each a substantive contribution to the project. Independent evaluation was ensured through the use of evaluation forms and the active involvement of associated partners.To facilitate efficient project communication, an external website (www.cultsense.eu) was set up and four newsletters were disseminated through the site and by email.
▶Impact
A group of over 10 health and care professionals completed the development of experimental pathway. This achievement enhanced their insights, qualifications, and basic skills essential for providing care to diverse populations. We established a blueprint for an educational pathway. This blueprint is aimed specifically at health and care workers who interact with elderly patients from different cultural backgrounds. The Blueprint also integrates the outcomes of a study that compares both countries as a result of the presentations made during the LTT's. Lastly, we put together a draft application for a full-scale partnership project within the Erasmus+ program, taking our efforts to the next level and ensuring continuity of our mission. The successor project will have more partners coming from more countries. For effective project dissemination, an external website (www.cultsense.eu) was established and four newsletters were circulated through the site and via email. Our cluster conference was well-attended, and our project received notice through EPALE.
