Summary

Our consortium partnership consists of Portugal (university), Slovenia (NGO), Turkey (Science and Art Center), Romania (secondary school) and Turkey (Primary School), under the coordination of Norway (NGO). The aim of the e_ STEAMSEL project, which brings together universities, non-governmental organizations and schools, was to prepare today's young people for the business world of the future. We aimed to improve the skills and competencies of young people, especially girls, in the fields of STEAM and SEL. Our main goal was to create activity plans suitable for the problem-based learning method that can be used in classroom applications in STEAM and SEL learning areas, based on real-life problems. With these activity plans, we applied for this project to improve the skills and competencies of our teachers and students in STEAM and SEL. We applied for the project to equip young people with the skills and competencies demanded by the future business world and to take their 21st century skills to a higher level.

Objectives

By implementing the project we wanted to achieve the following aims and objectives: OUR AIMS WERE TO; • Ensure participation of girls and young people with multiple disadvantages in STEAM and SEL education. • Increase awareness and sensitivity among teachers, schools, and parents. • Ensure inclusion, equality, and easy access in STEAM and SEL learning areas. • Increase skills-based literacy of disadvantaged youth and girls. • Provide digital content and digital-skills-supported transformation in teaching and learning processes. • Develop innovative ways to involve students in learning activities. • Ensure equal access to project results for both genders. Goals Achieved: • Develop virtual platform for innovative learning solutions. • Created moddle-based e learning platform. • Produced materials for three sections. • Developed Skill-based learning e materials (STEAM)(IO1). • Created Social and Emotional Learning activities (IO2). • Provide Interactive Counseling Services for Parents and Students (I03). Target groups ; Young people (9-18) with disadvantages teachers, school and parents working with 9-18 age group DECISION MAKERS, Policy formulators, NGOs, youth workers and public.

Activities

The partnership aimed to empower young people, particularly girls, in STEAM and SEL learning to prepare them for the future business world. The project encouraged schools and teachers to integrate labor market skills into curriculums and contributed to digital transformation in education. An e-platform was created, offering activities and materials for students and teachers at local, national, and transnational levels. The project also addressed the growing need for student and parent guidance due to digitalization in education. We produced the following content; IO1; STEAM FOR BOTH GIRLS AND BOYS: We developed interdisciplinary STEAM skills through activity plans and guidebooks, incorporating problem-solving and creative thinking in our project's e-learning platform. These guides provide teachers with methods, techniques, and application suggestions for STEAM teaching. IO2: SEL / SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL LEARNING: In the SEL learning area, activity plans and a guidebook were created for teachers to use in classroom practices. 03; INTERACTIVE COUNSELING SERVICES FOR PARENTS AND STUDENTS; Within the scope of this intellectual output, counseling services and awareness materials for parents and students were created. Materials were prepared to help students recognize and realize themselves, materials to raise awareness of our parents were prepared and presented in digital environment. Two LTTA activities were carried out for teachers; 1.LTT; PORTUGAL UPT: A one-week course was organized in the field of STEAM. 'STEAM Conference FOR BOTH GIRLS AND BOYS' was held at an international level. 2.LTT; SLOVENIA: Focused on producing content suitable for the SEL learning model. : "Social and Emotional Learning for All" Conference was held. 4 TPMs were carried out throughout the life of the project. Apart from these, online meetings were held every three months and when needed. 6 multiplier events were organized at the local level. Science and Art Festival was organized. Pilot applications were carried out and evaluated in three of our schools with the participation of students, teachers and parents. Dissemination activities were carried out.

Impact

PARTICIPANT TEACHERS; *Learned about STEAM and SEL learning model. *They had the ability to apply these two innovative approaches as a whole. *acquired new pedagogical skills to be used in in-class and out-of-class teaching practices *Awareness was created about new technologies used in partner institutions, countries and companies in the labor market. * Acquired skills in using advanced tools in ICT *Awareness was raised to include young people, especially girls, in STEAM education. *Ways to integrate art into STEAM education were learned. *Understanding the importance of motivating more girls in science *E-content preparation skills increased. PARTICIPATING INSTITUTIONS AND SCHOOLS; *Had an international e-learning platform in the field of STEAM and SEL learning *developed ability to equip themselves, students, parents and other stakeholders in their sphere of influence on 21st century competencies *contributed to the training of individuals with the “skills of the future” required by the “future labor market” at the transnational level. * institutions that catched the digital transformation in education. *Teh project highly beneficial on the internationalization of the institutions. *The partner institutions learned how to engage and motivate students by using modern methodologies, by taking them out of their routine learning, by encouraging them to be creative and this impacted teachers as well, local educational authorities too. STUDENTS: * increased skills in science and mathematics literacy at the European level *acquired the qualifications and skills needed by the future labor market with SEL learning and STEAM activities *improved self-knowledge, decision making and problem solving skills *be able to communicated with peers at the transnational level and developed language skills on the e learning platform *contributed to the equal development of girls and boys and raise awareness in gender equality. PARENTS; *be part of the school system and a transnational network, *increased interaction and communication with their children, *increased the awareness that girls and boys can be successful in STEAM. And Project created 3 Outputs E- learning platform that includes; IO1; STEAM FOR BOTH GIRLS and BOYS e materials IO2; SEL/Social and Emotional Learning e materials IO3; Interactive Counseling Services for Parents And Student
