Summary

The Earth's climate is changing and we need to be aware of how our activities affect it. Global warming takes many forms and has serious consequences for all species that live on Mother Earth. Under the Paris Agreement, European countries have a responsibility to keep the global average temperature increase below 2°C. In order to achieve this goal, it is crucial that young people, as the entrepreneurs of the future, are involved in this environmental issue. The six partners were enthusiastic about the project and wanted to work together to provide students, teachers and others with the knowledge and tools to become green entrepreneurs. Building knowledge, skills and attitudes about climate change is important for developing green competences. Environmental awareness is reflected in the following needs: to develop competencies of a future-oriented curriculum, to develop self-confidence in their role in the community and active involvement, to create a learning space through platforms and cooperation with NGOs and local institutions, to develop methods and tools to improve green skills, soft skills and entrepreneurial spirit.

Objectives

We want to raise awareness of the impact our way of life has on the planet, such as pollution, deforestation and depletion of natural resources. Our main goals are to create educational tools that promote sustainability, eco-friendliness and develop green entrepreneurs with a green mindset. In the future, knowledge and skills in green skills will give students an advantage in entering the labour market. For the partner countries it is important to ensure sustainable growth and we want to redesign our partner's curricula to integrate climate change and create an e-learning platform. The project will also strengthen and develop teachers' skills by introducing new innovative teaching methods. The aim is to change the behaviour of students and make them care for nature across Europe. Another aim is to develop and experience different cultures, improve language and social skills.

Activities

We implemented the STEM subject in our project because STEM or STEAM (includes art also)are based on challenging activities that force the student into creative thinking and produce outputs to the given task. One of the main goals are to develop and raise the spirit to students that have entrepreneurial interests. STEAM based teaching methods can be used from kindergarten to university. Each school had their own theme and activities that was relevant to the project. The activities was designed for creating solutions in Project Based Learning (PBL) together in groups of students and teachers. Collaboration across boarders can be a way of creating new innovative solutions.

Impact

In our project we have the following results: 1. "Climate Museum" Each school has made and installed a physical exhibition in the school area and students, teachers, parents and others can visit it. The exhibition shows different types of climate, changes and a historical development and diversity of species, global warming. 2. The "Virtual Climate Museum" is a digital version of the "Climate Museum". The "Virtual Museum" is an interactive showroom where you can visit the different climate museums. 3. The "Greenact Syllabus" is designed and developed to be integrated in schools. The "Greenact Syllabus" consists of five different themes with subtopics. 4. "The Greenact Platform is an e-learning platform for green skills and entrepreneurship. On the platform you can find virtual lessons on different topics. Knowledge and awareness about climate change, global warming and its effects. The participants have also developed their soft skills, ICT skills.
