▶Objectives
Our main goals were: - To familiarize people in Poland and Spain from different backgrounds with money management skills and to give them basic financial knowledge through non-formal education. - To implement local activities to overcome financial exclusion and develop responsibility in making financial decisions. As a result, adults at risk of exclusion have better skills in managing their household budgets and using financial services. - To increase awareness among adult learners of the benefits and opportunities of having a bank account and actively using modern payment instruments. Financial education influences conscious decision making in financial matters. Achieving the goals we set means improving skills in managing personal finances, both on a daily basis and during important life events, as well as the ability to cope with more difficult periods in life. The goal was not only to create scenarios for classes, but also to create a methodological handbook for working with people at risk of exclusion.
▶Impact
The concrete results of the project are the publication "Adults versus financial education and good practices in Poland and Spain" and a training handbook with an original program of financial education for adults. The created handbook is the result of several activities - first, an analysis of the needs of socially excluded adults (survey) and a review of good practices. Not without significance was a study visit to a partner from Spain. Meetings with employees of organizations involved in helping our recipients also gave us an indication of what financial education issues are important. All these factors resulted in the fact that our training handbook is not only ready-to-use lesson plans, but also tips for employees of organizations on how to be a financial educator.
