AduGames
ā¶Summary
AduGames was a collaborative Strategic Project initiated by the Regionalne Centrum Wolontariatu organization in Poland, Asociatia Centrul Pentru Strategii de Dezvoltare a Tineretului, BBR, and Mun...
ā¶Objectives
Objectives of the project were: ⢠To build up competencies of non-formal adult education practitioners for using gamification methods ⢠To explore gamification methodology in terms of practical examples, promote and improve its use in adult education all around Europe ⢠To share best practices of using gamification in adult education ⢠To develop relevant innovative outputs ⢠To enable the participants of the project, to act as multipliers of adult gamification ⢠To create long term cross ā a sectorial collaboration among diverse entities to work for support policy reforms in the field of adult education and sport at the local level All of those focused on creation of six deliverables presented further.
ā¶Activities
Our strategy for achieving this goal involved several key components, implemented over the course of the project: 1. Development of New Instruments and Methodologies: In the initial phase, we embarked on the creation of four innovative instruments and methodologies employing gamification techniques. These were meticulously designed to enhance non-formal education. Subsequently, these tools underwent testing by a cohort of adult educators who integrated them into their activities involving adult participants. This comprehensive two-year testing period allowed for the thorough evaluation and refinement of the gamification tools in real-world educational settings. 2. Enhancement of Professional Skills: Concurrently, we focused on the professional development of adult educators. Through active participation in the creation of gamification educational methodologies, these educators gained valuable insights and skills. Moreover, they directly applied and tested these methodologies in practical scenarios involving adult learners throughout the project's duration. This dual approach ensured not only the improvement of professional competencies among adult educators but also contributed to the continuous optimization of the gamification tools through their practical application. 3. Practical activities: Another integral aspect of our strategy was examining the transversal educational impact of the developed methodologies. This involved testing the effectiveness of the gamification tools in three distinct education contexts. By assessing the adaptability and efficacy of the methodologies in diverse settings, we aimed to validate their potential for broader applicability in formal educational institutions. 4. IO creation - the consortium created six outputes as tools for adult education serving for their work with adult learners such as board game, card game, outdoor activities curriculum as well as book of best practices, gamification manual and a platform.
ā¶Impact
The outcomes of the project encompassed a series of tangible results that significantly contributed to the field of adult education through gamification. These results were achieved through the successful implementation of four distinct Intellectual Outputs (IOs), each serving as a unique facet of the project's overarching objectives: 1. IO1: Board Game - Learning Experience: As part of the project's achievements, a board game was developed to provide a dynamic and engaging learning experience for adult participants. This innovative tool was designed to incorporate gamification elements, fostering an interactive environment that enhanced the educational journey for adults. Throughout the project's lifecycle, this board game underwent careful development, testing, and refinement, ensuring its effectiveness in delivering meaningful learning experiences. 2. IO2: Card Game - Learning Experience: Complementing the board game, a card game was also conceptualized and realized as a key intellectual output of the project. This card game served as an additional learning experience, presenting adults with a versatile and enjoyable educational tool. The development and refinement process involved collaborative efforts, drawing on the expertise of the project team to create a gamified card game that resonated with adult learners and facilitated the acquisition of knowledge and skills. 3. IO3: Manual for Adults - How to Use Gamification Methods in Adult Education: Another noteworthy outcome of the project was the creation of a comprehensive manual tailored for adults. This manual served as a guide on effectively utilizing gamification methods in the realm of adult education. It provided detailed insights, instructions, and practical tips, empowering adult educators to integrate gamified approaches into their teaching methodologies. The meticulous crafting of this manual was informed by real-world testing and feedback from adult educators, ensuring its relevance and applicability in diverse educational settings. 4. IO4: Outdoor Gamification Tools Design: In response to the evolving landscape of adult education, the project addressed the need for outdoor gamification tools. The development process involved collaboration with experts and thorough testing to ensure the suitability and effectiveness of these outdoor gamification tools. 5. IO5 Webportal for community building of the adult educator. A tool for showcasing the results of the project. 6. IO6 Book of best practices.
