Objectives

We wanted to improve the teachers capacity to deliver effective blockchain education to their management and business students. Educators need to update their own knowledge and skills, recognize the non-technical aspects and have appropriate tools to introduce blockchain teaching in their daily work. This need was met through R1, Audit and Framework and bolstered by R2, Inverted Learning OERS. By ensuring that lecturers have a clear understanding of the implications and applications of blockchain, a framework for its pedagogic application and the confidence to apply this, we wanted to increase the level of proficiency within their students, while also increasing the employability of HEI educators. We also focused on business and management students. We wanted to provide them with targeted educational materials so that they could apply the knowledge about blockchain successfully, in an economically beneficial manner. The project met their needs by providing high quality, accessible and engaging materials through, R2 OERS & R3 Online Course which could help graduates to successfully enter into the ever changing, blockchain enabled working world. The project also met partners needs of an access to materials on blockchain.

Activities

Two main types of activities were: RESULTS DEVELOPMENT and ROUT TO IMPACT. R1: Generation Blockchain Audit & Framework a research publication showcases the application of Blockchain education in practice across Europe within HEIs. This research highlights areas where Blockchain could easily be included into curriculum content. R2, Inverted Learning Open Education Resources. This suite of OERs was designed for use by HEI business educators in small groups or seminar style classes. A curriculum outlines key learning objectives, resources include scenario-based learning activities, the inverted learning style allows students to be the driving force for their own understanding. Teachers’ guide aiding educators was also developed. R3, “Generation Blockchain Online Course” a multilingual, interactive learning course in which business, economics and management students as well as early stage entrepreneurs and other relevant stakeholders can access training directly in a flexible and independent manner. ROUT TO IMPACT: Multiplier Events, website, social media channels, publishing a book engaged many stakeholders to our project. 18 universities from Europe and Asia expressed their interests in using the project educational materials.

Impact

THREE MAIN OUTPUTS were developed: R1: The research publication "Generation Blockchain Audit & Framework" (in 6 languages: en, pl, de, dk, nl, pt) highlights the practical implementation of Blockchain education in European higher education institutions (HEIs). It presents an educational model developed on the research conducted within the project. R2: "Inverted Learning Open Education Resources" (languages: en, pl, de, dk, pt) comprises online educational materials crafted for higher education business educators, suitable for small groups or seminar-style classes. The curriculum and a teacher's guide have been developed to assist educators. R3: The "Generation Blockchain Online Course" (languages: en, pl, de, dk, pt) is an interactive, multilingual online learning program tailored for business, economics, and management students, as well as early-stage entrepreneurs and other pertinent stakeholders. This course facilitates direct access to training in a flexible and independent manner for participants. Additionally, the book titled “Blockchain in higher education - theoretical foundations, experiences and challenges” was published and it was financed by the lead partner – University of Szczecin.
