โ–ถSummary

Over the past few decades, computational thinking (CT) has received widespread attention and has been recognised as one of the essential skills skills required by those growing up in the digital age. To raise the next generation to be creative problem solvers, there is a growing need to implement computer thinking education into the school curriculum. Computational thinking is considered one of the most in-demand digital skills of the 21st century. Among other skills such as reading, writing and mathematics, computer thinking is presented as a great challenge to achieve. On the other hand, with the increase in enrolment in online courses, there is a demand for teachers trained in teaching with technology and who can design effective online learning materials. However, teachers may perceive barriers to successful online education programmes such as the loss of personal interaction with students, technological challenges, pedagogical concerns, institutional policy issues and potential problems associated with online teaching.

โ–ถObjectives

The main objective of our project is to help teachers acquire the knowledge and principles to design, create and offer e-learning materials using the principles of computational thinking. More specifically, our project aimed to answer the following questions: -What pedagogical methods can a teacher apply to online learning using the axioms of computational thinking? -How can a teacher be trained to create and use e-learning materials using the axioms of computational thinking? What we want to achieve in this project is summarised below: Teachers should familiarise themselves with the axioms of computational thinking. Although computational thinking has become a trendy word in educational research in computer science, many teachers have heard the term (i.e. computational thinking) but do not understand what it is. Therefore, the teacher needs to delve into the world of digital tools that are used to teach and assess computational thinking. In the next section, teachers explore the different pedagogical methods used to create and teach online using CT.

โ–ถActivities

The following activities are envisaged to achieve the project results: 1.Collection of resources, including publications, studies, etc. in all partner countries and beyond. Most important for this activity is for the partners to find out what is the current situation of computer thinking in the educational system of their country and whether there is a list of e-learning materials offered. list of e-learning materials offered. 2. Preparation of Intellectual Output 1 - Textbook: 'Using Computational Thinking Online: a methodological guide for teachers. 3. Translation of the handbook from English into all partner languages. into all partner languages. 4.Preparation of the e-learning course for teachers (structure, modules, support materials, etc.). 5.Organisation of a pilot phase in the form of a training course for teachers. 6.Translation of training materials from English into all partner languages. 7.Intellectual output 3 - A set of scenarios for different teaching subjects for use in online education. online education. โ–ถImpact

The project has produced the following results 1.We developed educational materials for teachers and other groups involved in online education - the Handbook. 2.We have created a comprehensive educational platform for teachers (E-learning Course). 3.We have prepared a Collection of lesson plans - examples to inspire and encourage the use in on-line education 4.We have interested many teaching communities and trainers in using computational thinking. 5.We organised an international meeting dedicated to the use of computational thinking in online education. 6.Using social media, we have launched a space to share experiences, and develop and improve knowledge of online education. 7.We prepared a Youtube channel promoting and supporting the use of computer thinking in remote education.
