▶Objectives
The goal of the project was to introduce sustainability issues into the education of vocational school students in Poland, Germany and Denmark in a practical and accessible way by developing a handbook with 48 lesson plans for students and VET staff by experts from the 3 countries, including materials for use in formal and non-formal education. The specific objectives were: - to fill the gap in vocational education programs with competencies for sustainable development by developing a good, practical and universal educational tool - to reach 'peripheral areas of education' with sustainability - strengthening the flow of good practices for sustainable development between EU countries
▶Activities
The project implemented: - a handbook for training competencies for sustainable development in vocational schools containing 36 lesson plans for students of 4 trades (gastronomy, hairdressing, landscape architecture and electrical professions) and 12 for VET staff was developed - the manual was prepared in PDF and Power Point versions, translated into 4 languages (Polish, Danish, German and English) - 3 international project team meetings were held with the participation of experts from 3 countries - 1 international training in Denmark with the participation of experts from 3 countries was carried out - training of teachers on introducing the topic of sustainable development into curricula and test classes with students in vocational schools in Poland, Germany and Denmark were conducted - widely disseminated the manual through national seminars in Poland, Germany and Denmark with min. 40 participants each and 1 international dissemination meeting in Denmark, sending the handbook to VET institutions and on the Internet on industry websites
▶Impact
- a practical handbook for the training of competencies for sustainable development in vocational schools was developed with 48 handouts (36 for students, 12 for VET staff), in 4 languages (Polish, German, Danish and English) - an analysis was made of 4 vocational branches on the necessary activities for the development of sustainable workforce competencies, which was the basis for the development of handout topics for students and teachers - through testing activities, 4 vocational schools from 3 EU countries were integrated into the stream of international cooperation and environmental education - in 4 vocational schools and 3 organizations the potential for international cooperation and implementation of innovations in vocational education was raised - the competence of staff of 3 organizations from Denmark, Poland and Germany in the area of education for sustainable development and international cooperation was raised - the cooperation network of VET organizations from Poland, Germany and Denmark was strengthened, increasing opportunities for further joint activities and flow of educational innovations
