โ–ถSummary

The project was a response to the Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027) and referred directly to the horizontal priority concerning digital transformation. The project implementation allowed f...

โ–ถObjectives

The main objective of the project was to improve the quality of education in technical schools in Europe by implementing a tool for analyzing the competence gap of students studying in three fields of study: construction technician, logistics technician, renewable energy technician. The development of a tool for comprehensive assessment of competences in selected fields of study contributed to eliminating the problem of differences between the competences of graduates expected by the labor market and the actual scope of knowledge, skills and attitudes they offer. The use of multidimensional comparative analysis methods allowed for the presentation of results in a graphic form that is easy to interpret. The results contributed to increasing the motivation to act among young people and to undertake various forms of additional education. Schools gained competence profiles of graduates to promote their own activities and emphasize the quality of their activities among potential students. Additionally, career advisors and educators received a unique tool to help them support young people in designing and implementing career paths.

โ–ถActivities

The project developed remote tools for assessing the competence gap of students in selected fields of study (EQF level 4: logistics, construction, renewable energy). For this purpose, an assessment of the level of various types of students' competences was used and compared with the desired level for typical positions offered by employers in the indicated industries. In cooperation with experts, a competence matrix for selected professions was created. The project carried out primary research using the PAPI method on a group of students from three fields of study and the IDI method among experts from the indicated industries. A report on the forms of improving various types of competences available on the market was also prepared. The developed results were tested, and the recommendations from this stage were included in the final version of the results. The developed IT tool underwent an accessibility audit for people with disabilities. The project carried out activities to disseminate the results - seminars conducted by each of the partners. Directly or indirectly, approximately 4,500 people benefited from the activities organized in the project and its results or were the target of these activities.

โ–ถImpact

The main result of the project is a tool for comprehensive assessment of competences of students studying in three fields of study: construction technician, logistics technician, renewable energy technician. As part of the project work, we prepared five results, namely: 1. Competency profiles for selected professions and positions (R1) โ€“ together with experts, we selected five typical professions for the indicated fields of study. The profiles were created at the beginning of the project and updated after the testing stage. 2. Competency tests for the specified fields of study (R2) in the form of single-choice questions for 12 types of competences (3 so-called vocational ones specific to a given field of study and 9 universal ones, the same for all fields of study). For each type of competence, 20 test questions were developed. 3. An IT tool for automatic assessment of the level of competence and compliance with profiles (R3). 4. A proposal for the interpretation of competence test results along with sample development activities and possibilities of obtaining their financing (R4). 5. Report on the possibilities of using an IT tool to assess the competences of deaf and hard of hearing students (R5).
