Summary

The project "Our Colorful Cities" was conceived by Polish partners. The concept was developed during one of the previous projects, namely the Fussballiada.PL football tournament for national minor...

Objectives

The main goal of the project was to create an educational tool that could bring about a lasting change in the attitudes of young people. This applies not only to the group participating in international mobilities but primarily to the participants of the workshops we have organized and will continue to organize at stadiums. According to the plans, the prepared training and materials are highly attractive to young people, not necessarily interested in sports or history in general. However, by combining active workshops with inspiring locations, namely football stadiums, we manage to convince young people that sports represent a multicultural tradition and that there is and has always been a place for everyone in sports clubs, regardless of their background, beliefs, or financial situation.

Activities

In further actions, together with our Italian and Macedonian partners, we have prepared: A set of 3 educational packages designed for conducting workshops on tolerance and combating racism and xenophobia for young people at 3 major European stadiums. We have trained a team of youth educators. We organized 3 mobilities, each for 24 participants, who largely formed a permanent team according to the assumptions. Subsequently, we utilized these individuals in dissemination activities, and we will continue this cooperation. We plan to continue this collaboration, particularly in Poland, and our partners also express similar intentions. Among the Polish participants, at least 5 individuals show great promise as educators. Despite their young age, we maintain contact with them and will invest in their development, assigning them to conduct workshops as part of the entire "Lessons at the Stadium" project.

Impact

The outcome of the project is a modern training program implemented in 3 countries. It is aimed at young people, including those exhibiting tendencies towards aggressive and xenophobic behaviors. By utilizing stadiums and the world of football, we aim to reach the target group and change their sensitivity to issues of tolerance, immigration, and multiculturalism. We have developed 3 packages of educational tools and materials: a knowledge compendium, lesson plans, presentations, and multimedia materials allowing for workshop implementation at 3 stadiums in 3 cities participating in the project: Wrocław, Milan, and Bitola. Through the implementation of dissemination activities, we have increased knowledge and awareness and influenced the attitudes of a significant group of young people.
