Summary

"yoURB4N_Europe" was born as a response to the lack of spaces for youth work where young people could express them selves in terms of urban arts and creativity sectors: we literally addressed the ...

Objectives

The objectives were to: exchange hybrid educative tools and practices aimed to rewrite a creative urban environment by shaping social actions; reinvent the role of urban arts and forms sizing spaces as an educational tool for youth empowering the re-naturing of urban art experiences in the youth sector of the post-pandemic; interlink and resocialise young people after Covid-19 consequences of isolation; unite the urban art with the rehabilitation of spaces making them sustainable and available for youth work creation and design, as well stimulating creative approaches and cross-sectoral collaborations; reconnect the natural and social worlds within an increasingly urban existence while creating a digital pattern and space that tells the story of a certain youth environment; provoke a re-engagement of urbanites with the environment, acting as a catalyst for transformative youth work evolution, social inclusion, youth friendly societies and creativity; support quality youth work thanks to the new Erasmus+ Programme and the European Youth Strategy 2019-2027.

Impact

The Project Results were initially previewed in a set of blueprints (a total of 15) which we discussed in the design momentum of the project. Once the project got approved, we raised the project ambition and relevance, seeing the situation of youth workers and young people was worsened (target group was more demanding), and we submitted a final set of 20. The final composition of 20 3D blueprints is so far composed: EuroFRC - Łódź, Poland: 1. ul. Kilińskiego 83; 2. ul. Kilińskiego 94; 3. ul. Pomorska 53; 4. ul. Dowborczyków 3; 5. ul. Wierzbowa 44. Kasta Morrely - Iasi, Romania: 1. Tineretului Cinema; 2. Cuza Voda 46; 3. Cuza Voda 48; 4. Buicliu House; 5. Union Square. Arciragazzi Portici - Portici, Italy: 1. Railway Station; 2. Mercato Coperto; 3. 'O Chiosco; 4. Centro Sociale; 5. Ciro a Mare. Youth for Equality - Trnava, Slovakia: 1. St.Nicholas; 2. Pekarska Street; 3. Railway station; 4. Pracharen street; 5. Kalokagatia street. It is also relevant to highlight that the murals and the interiors of the building were invented ad hoc and that we have put efforts and much more workload than the working hours of the project was funding us.
