Schools toward the 3E: Etools, Emoderation and EAssessment
▶Summary
The discovery and spread of COVID-19 has led many governments to take drastic measures to mitigate its impacts on society. All over the world, teachers and students have been forced to migrate the physical learning environment to virtual spaces. Four institutions from Portugal, Austria, Sweden and Türkiye came together to try better understand and find solutions to the biggest challenges teachers face in online teaching with a focus on eTools, eModeration and eAssessment are imperative. In this project we explored the use of these 3 components as a way of fostering the development of innovative learning processes and they covered the following stages: –This project began with a study (PR1) that aimed to outline a state of the art of online practices that occurred during lockdown. –Based on results of the previous study and taking advantage of the added value of the knowledge and experience from the University of Aveiro(PT) and Sucessos Criativos (PT), a blended training was designed for teachers who participate directly in the project. This training was replicated, through short workshops in the schools of origin. –The evaluation of the Training and results of its replication.-Best Practices dissemination-policy recomendation
▶Objectives
The main objectives of the project are: -Develop teachers' skills and confidence in the appropriate and effective use of digital technology to support learning and teaching -Encourage teachers to design and share innovative and effective practices using digital platforms, both face-to-face and online contexts. -Frame online teaching in learning and teaching theories, understanding the foundations for its full use; -Create, implement and evaluate teacher training courses in 2 different modalities (in-person and online); -Define a reference and inspiring set of good practices that will allow teachers to implement online learning; -Strengthen the connection between schools, companies, teacher training centers, professional teachers associations and universities on a European dimension; -Design an educational policy framework to promote the use of digital technology to support learning and teaching in the countries involved.
▶Activities
The main target group addressed during this project are secondary education teachers (ISCED 2-3). It is expected that at the end of the project there will be a solid and diversified base of results, of which we highlight the following: - Survey of online practices adopted in the context of COVID-19 -One bendend training course -8 short online workshops involving at least 80 (10 from each school) teachers resulting from the replication actions of the bended course; - 3E@Schools - eLearning Course We had 200 teachers to participate in this course. -Best Practices in online teaching secondary education (ISCED 2-3) It had included at least 40 practices - Policy Recommendations -Two Conference related to the two conferences that will be organized (Multiplier Events)
▶Impact
Participation in this project had enhanced the knowledge of the European Union, increased levels of tolerance and respect for the other while opening the way for future and lasting cooperation. The possibility of participating in this project had increased self-esteem and job satisfaction, which inevitably had induced improvements in the performance of their duties. At the institutional level it was improvement the image and the external recognition of the members of the consortium. The mechanisms implemented for the recognition and validation of training will have an impact on teachers' careers. Another remarkable impact was the strengthening of the profile of teaching professions through the transfer of competences, knowledge, pedagogical and didactic tools. Finally it was important to highlight the impact that this project had an improving students' learning and digital skills. A Sustainability plan was established and was defined the vision of the project partners on the results, potential and impact of the project, specifying the guidelines for exploring and transferring the project results outside the original network and duration of the project
