Do Real Enterprises and Marketing
▶Summary
Through the DREAM project, we wanted to teach young people how to prepare their business plan before starting their company. By using the results developed, the participants are able to master economic terms, will know how to write a business plan, make a marketing strategy and visualise the evolutionary economics of the company. The motivation behind the project started with the recognition of a community's need to promote and showcase the important role that entrepreneurship has in the economic growth of society. By targeting young people aged 18-24, the project offers a series of success stories of young business owners that motivate and inspire aspiring entrepreneurs. Additionally, the platform developed with the project provides a comprehensive entrepreneurial course that covers everything from business planning to marketing strategy. Moreover through the platform developed in the project other organisations can include their own education courses in business or other topics relevant for young people.
▶Objectives
1. Encouraging entrepreneurial behaviour among young people by informing at least 1,500 young people aged between 18 and 24 from the partner countries about the DREAM project and the entrepreneurial MOOC. 2 Developing entrepreneurial skills of at least 1500 young people aged between 18 and 24 from the partner countries by participating in the content of the MOOC and giving quality information. 3. Increasing the level of entrepreneurial knowledge among at least 1500 young people aged between 18 and 24 from the partner countries by involving them in the model of evaluation and recognition of knowledge held by the MOOC D.R.E.A.M.
▶Activities
LTTA - The training involved 24 participants who were passionate about entrepreneurship or who wanted to start their journey in this direction. The LTTA lasted 6 days, during which we worked intensively with the participants to test the theoretical content of the DREAM platform and also to put the theoretical part into practice through practical workshops that took the participants through the process of building a business. At the end of the six days, participants were able to develop their entrepreneurial skills, working in teams and building a business idea from scratch. The feedback from the participants was positive and appreciated regarding the practical learning and the knowledge gained from the trainees. Every day the workshop tackled a new topic. First, we all looked at the DREAM platform and the lessons presented, and then we worked practically on the lessons in the course. Multiplier events—Each partner organised a multiplier event, 6 in total. The events aimed to raise the impact and increase the communities' engagement in the project. The multiplier events happened in the final stages of the project, and the organisation presented, in most cases, the project's results. Transnational meetings—Throughout the project duration, we had four transnational meetings. Each meeting reviewed progress, addressed challenges, and discussed face-to-face aspects related to the implementation and the next steps. The meetings were organized depending on the project's status and correlated to the activities. During the project we developed two IOs: IO1 - realise a minimum of 60 interviews with under 30 years old entrepreneurs from Greece, Netherlands, Poland, Italy, Turkey, and Romania (digital format, videos); IO2 - develop a new MOOC platform to promote entrepreneurial skills for young people (this platform can be used to develop new courses in the future to ensure sustainability). During the project timeline we organised dissemination activities, promotion activities, networking activities and sustainability activities.
▶Impact
Case study—The purpose of this result was to motivate readers to start their own businesses. For this result, we conducted interviews in 6 countries and gathered a collection of success stories with young entrepreneurs under 30. This collection offers an insight into the world of entrepreneurship. There are 71 interviews in total, both written and digital. They also include the contact information of the entrepreneurs and those who want to be business angels to promote mentorship opportunities and the exchange of knowledge. DREAM platform—This was the second output of the project, which aimed to offer young entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners an interactive MOOC tailored to their needs. The platform was designed to provide a dynamic learning environment, with several key sections for the users: courses, instructors, interviews, portal, forum, and e-DREAM bank. The entrepreneurial course on the platform has nine chapters, each covering a different topic related to starting a business. The chapters are: The Business Idea, Testing Phase, Financial Plan, The Business Plan, Branding, Marketing, Funding Opportunities, Social Enterprises, and Sustainable Green Companies. The final video was created as the project's final point. It contained all the activities done in the project, testimonials from participants in the LTTA, interviews with participants in the multiplier events, and the structure of the entrepreneurial course.
