Objectives

By implementing the project, we aimed to achieve the main goal of the project, which is to contribute to the society effort to improve the quality of education of children whose mother tongue is different than the state language, and to contribute to the improvement of the quality of education of Slovak children living abroad. To achieve this goal, we set 5 specific objectives and defined activities and procedures to achieve these sub-goals, subordinated to the main goal: 1.development of a methodological manual and compilation of methodological recommendations, curriculum and syllabus directly linked to the textbook for children of foreigners and compatriots Aha, slovenčina! and compilation of a methodological guide to the workbook Svet okolo nás po slovensky for pre-school age, 2.creation of “Picture (communication) cards” as additional didactic material usable in kindergartens, primary schools, language schools and educational centers abroad, 3.development of the “Translation Dictionary of Basic Terms for Primary Schools” with 4 language versions, 4.testing of the developed methodological materials during the process of their creation, 5.dissemination of the project outputs: realization of the educational activity.

Activities

In the implementation of the project, we carried out the following activities: - we have held 4 transnational meetings of project partners, - we carried out an educational activity “Training for teaching staff on methodological and didactic materials”. The final seminar on the project results is addressed to the professional and lay public, - we have developed 7 intellectual outputs including 2 methodological guides to educational publications, 1 translation dictionary in 4 language versions, a supplementary teaching material “Picture Communication Cards” and methodological guide to them, 3 variations of Methodological Recommendations, curriculum, and syllabus for the needs of primary and language schools and educational centres, - we have made audio recordings of the methodological guide to the textbook “Aha, slovenčina!“ (Chapter “Orthography, orthoepy”), - we carried out events in the form of webinars for the general professional public, - we have arranged for the printing of “Picture Communication Cards”, - we ensured the project received publicity, throughout the implementation.

Specific outputs of the project: 1.Methodological guide to the textbook “Aha, slovenčina!”. Teacher's methodological guide to the textbook for children of foreigners and compatriots “Aha, slovenčina!” (Methodological guide + recordings). 2. Methodological guide to the workbook “Svet okolo nás po slovensky“. Teacher's methodological guide to the workbook for preschoolers “Svet okolo nás po slovensky “. 3. Methodological recommendations, curriculum, and syllabus for the textbook “Aha, slovenčina!“ for the needs of language schools in Slovakia that teach Slovak as a foreign language. 4. Methodological recommendations, curriculum, and syllabus for the needs of basic and extended courses in primary schools. 5. Translation dictionary for primary schools (in 4 language versions). A representative selection of a list of standardized terms from the educational standards of each subject (German, French, Korean and Spanish). 6. Picture (communication) cards - supplementary teaching material in both printed and digital formats (set of educational cards and methodological guide). 7. Methodological recommendations, curriculum, and syllabus for the needs of foreign educational centers teaching Slovak mainly to Slovak children living abroad.
