Yenilikçi Dijital Uygulamaları İle Öğrenci Kazanım Edindirme Tespit Sistemi ve Olumlu Okul İklimi Projesi
▶Summary
During the preparation of our project, which was accepted during the 2021 call for proposals, we could not measure whether students had fully achieved these achievements in the exams that were mostly conducted in schools in our country, and unfortunately, a system that would compensate for the achievements that could not be achieved was being implemented in our schools. Due to this situation, absenteeism and school dropout due to failure were experienced. . After the acceptance of our project, as a result of the meetings we held due to the interest of the central organization of the ministry in our project, a regulation change was made nationwide and we contributed to the preparation of the current regulation. In addition, we increased academic success by determining whether student achievements were achieved through the mobile application and e-learning platform we prepared and compensating for the achievements that could not be achieved.
▶Objectives
In our schools, absenteeism, school dropout, bad habits, etc., as a result of achievement-based deficiencies (academic success), cause many problems. The number of students who are more distant from lessons due to absenteeism, repeat a grade or drop out of school and leave the educational life is quite high. This situation causes important problems for countries. Students who repeat a grade or drop out prevent the qualified human resources potential from participating in the development of society in a timely manner. School dropout can have many negative effects on students. The first of these can be said to be the negative effects on the student's own social life and emotional health. The striking characteristics of individuals who drop out of school can be summarized as low quality of life, working in low-paid jobs that require low qualifications, unemployment, social incompatibility, and tendency to crime and suicide. With our project, we aimed to increase the academic success of our students by making the measurement and evaluation process, which is an inseparable part of education, compatible with technology. In this way, we wanted to create a positive school climate and minimize the negativities we mentioned above.
▶Activities
Within the scope of our project, opening and closing meetings, 7 project management meetings, 5 multiplier events were held and 3 project results were prepared in accordance with the expectations of our target audience.
▶Impact
Within the scope of our project, a mobile application has been prepared to determine whether our students have achieved the required gains. The mobile application has been uploaded to the App Store and Google Play Store and can be downloaded free of charge. An e-learning platform has also been prepared that works in parallel with the mobile application. In this way, people who do not use mobile phones due to financial inadequacies or who have intemal problems have been enabled to use this system. In addition, thanks to our positive school climate booklet, a resource book has been created to transform the school climate in a positive way. If the project results we have prepared are integrated into their own systems by both our Ministry of National Education and the Ministries of Education in Europe, academic success will increase. The reflection of the education and training systems and quality of the partner countries will positively contribute to the TIMSS and PISA results of the increasing academic success. As a result of the project, absenteeism, grade repetition and early school dropout due to academic inadequacy in the school environment will be prevented. This will contribute to smart growth and reducing early school dropout to 10% in the EU 2020 strategic goals. In addition, students' love of school or in other words, their positive attitude towards school and their own desire to learn will also be positively affected. Thus, doing activities that will help students love their schools will contribute to teachers' lessons being more efficient and result-oriented.
