Her Şey Matematik İle Başlar
▶Summary
We applied for our project in 2021 during the process that affected the whole world and many countries switched to distance education. Education has taken a serious hit worldwide with the COVID-19 pandemic, which started in February 2020, with effects felt all over the world. According to a report published by UNICEF on August 27, 2020, at least one-third of the world's school-age children, 463 million children, have been unable to access distance education due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our project idea emerged with the idea of how to remove students from this process with the least damage. We especially targeted our students with math learning difficulties. We thought that this group would be affected the most because it was a process where they couldn’t continue their face-to-face education. What we wanted to achieve with the project was to create processes that would enable students with Math Learning Difficulties (Dyscalculia) to compensate for the learning losses they experience, and to produce a Mobile Application so that they could develop themselves independently from school.
▶Objectives
With this Project, we have aimed to diagnose the reasons that prevent our students who had Mathematics learning difficulties with our project partners who had similar problems, - To diagnose the reasons that prevent them from being successful in Mathematics lessons, - To produce a 'Mobile Application' that would be enable our students to increase their level step by step in an inductive approach and increase their Mathematics competencies through this application, - With the 'Mobile Application', which would be the intellectual output of our project, we have aimed to support our students' Basic Mathematics skills with game-based Mathematics teaching and contribute to increasing their Mathematics course success after the distance learning process. We have planned to create a software used for difficulties.'Dyscalculia Discriminator'. After the students were diagnosed with Dyscalculia on the application, the 1st phase, which aimed to improve the student's Mathematics competencies in 6 levels. The Mobile Application we crated to produce would emerge with the data that 6 project partners from different cultures, using different education systems, would reach as a result of field studies, working together for the same purpose.
