Objectives

Our vision for the project was to improve the lives of socially excluded young people by nurturing a growth mindset. Therefore, the primary objectives of implementing the project were: Promote a Growth Mindset: to instil a growth mindset among socially excluded young people, helping them understand that their abilities were not fixed but could be improved through effort and perseverance. Assist in Realizing Full Potential: involving fostering resilience, persistence, and self-belief, young people to overcome the challenges posed by social exclusion. Empower Through Opportunities: by providing young people opportunities to pursue their life goals and aspirations. We aimed to create pathways for them to achieve success in various aspects of their lives. Youth Worker Capacity Building: equipping youth workers with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively work with socially excluded young people. Innovation Through Trust-Building: the emphasis on trust-building was the foundation for introducing a growth mindset. We aimed to create a safe and supportive environment where socially excluded youth felt valued, heard, and empowered to make positive life changes.

Activities

The implementation phase of our project was structured around a series of carefully planned activities designed to achieve our defined objectives. These activities were carried out collaboratively by project partners and were executed successfully. Below, we outline the key activities that formed an integral part of the project's implementation: Management & Dissemination activities: involved all management-related activities including management meetings and following the dissemination plan; Content development and E-learning course: through a comprehensive needs assessment, we set the foundation for content development, followed by the development and implementation of an E-Learning course. Development of the train-the-trainer program: Starting with the content and methodology development of the training course for youth workers, we then implemented an LTTA for youth workers. Local pilot implementation activities: partners implemented 8 workshops with youth workers and young people supported by the developed methodology and tools, resulting in final improvements of the developed resources - Training content and E-learning course.

Impact

Our project has yielded significant results and achievements: E-learning Course: Developed a comprehensive digital platform providing youth workers with tools and knowledge on the growth mindset. Train-the-Trainer Program: Rolled out a detailed training regimen for youth workers, enhancing their methodology to foster a growth mindset among socially excluded youth. Local Workshops: Successfully executed 8 workshops across Slovenia, Portugal, and Belgium, directly engaging 60 individuals—both youth workers and socially excluded young people. Feedback Loop: Accumulated invaluable feedback during pilot implementations, refining our content and e-course for wider future applications. Empowerment: Equipped youth workers with advanced skills, leading to enhanced trust-building and empowerment of socially excluded youth in their communities.
