Summary

The motivation for the project was to increase the quality of physical education activities for girls aged 12-18, particularly addressing the impact of the menstrual cycle on their motivation, participation, and performance. The project aims to investigate and collect data on good practices for training and educating young women in Europe, develop innovative and inclusive approaches to adapt to the needs of girls, raise awareness of the issue, and create synergies with different entities related to physical activity. The project was motivated by the lack of knowledge and skills of coaches and professors to address girls' needs, lack of innovative and inclusive methods in physical education and sport, and the issue of menstrual stigma.

There are also quantitative and qualitative indicators identified to measure the project's impact, such as the number of events organized, the competencies gained by youth workers, coaches and education staff, the knowledge and satisfaction of girls, partnerships and collaborations formed, among others. The project also aimed to create a professional and dynamic organizational environment, help society, and reach the target group. The results of the project are a handbook and raising awareness campaigns. The handbook: the gathered and analyzed information gave us deeper insight into the existing practice regarding girls' physical activities during the MC at the national and European levels. Furthermore, results helped us understand the situation better and develop an adequate approach towards physical education activities of girls. Raising awareness campaigns informed the wider community about the project.
