▶Objectives
The AUGE Project had three main objectives: 1) To inform and raise awareness in students about ecological issues and climate change. 2) To inform and support Teachers and Headmasters both on how to save energy in schools and how they could cultivate the students' ecological sensibilities. 3) To design actions and educational material that would contribute to the achievement of the project's main goal in a creative and innovative manner, providing participants the opportunity to leave their "green footprint" on society, but also to develop soft and other key competences and skills.
▶Activities
The activities of the AUGE Project varied, but could be summarised as following: 1) 9 Interactive-Experiential Workshops 2) 3 one-day Events targeting teachers and school leaders (two in Cyprus and one in Crete) 3) Design of an open-access website for the dissemination of the project's outcomes and of other relevant material (www.augeproject.com) 4) Kick-off event (online) 5) Project close meeting (online) 6) Exchange visits 7) A 21-minutes video of the project AUGE (in Greek with English subtitles) 8) Innovative and creative educational material on environmental issues (animations, interactive exercises, videos, powerpoint presentations etc)
▶Impact
The project: 1) informed and raised awareness to Primary and Secondary Education pupils about ecological issues and climate change with novel and creative ways through 9 Experiential Workshops 2) informed and trained Teachers and School Headmasters on issues related to energy saving and upcycling/recycling in schools by means of 3 one-day events 3) Design and implementation of original educational material inspired, among others, by the Ancient Greek language and mythology, ecotheology etc. 4) Creation of interactive exercises for the assimilation of the educational material (quizzes, crosswords etc). 5) Production of a 21-minutes video with a detailed description of the project, its aims and deliverables ( in Greek with English subtitles)
