Objectives

Social Interaction and Integration: One of the primary aims was to create opportunities for people with and without disabilities to engage in activities together, promoting social integration and mutual understanding. Communication and Empathy: The project aimed to facilitate proper communication between individuals without disabilities and the families of those with disabilities, fostering an environment of empathy and understanding. Education and Awareness: intended to educate the public about changing attitudes towards disabilities, providing correct information to dispel myths and prejudices, and encouraging a more inclusive viewpoint. Empathy Development: By allowing individuals without disabilities to engage directly with those who are disabled, the project aimed to cultivate empathy, helping to see the abilities rather than the limitations of individuals. Inspirational Model for Institutions: The project was designed to serve as a good example for educational and social institutions to undertake similar efforts, thereby spreading the impact beyond the direct participants.

Activities

The project organized several mobility events in different partner countries, allowing participants to share methodologies, tools, and resources on special education, which facilitated the exchange of best practices across Europe. A series of seminars titled "Society’s Perspective on People with Disabilities" was led by Czechia. Interactive sessions, such as drama activities and art workshops, were designed to enhance interaction between disabled and non-disabled students. These activities aimed to challenge and change perceptions about disabilities through creative expression. A dedicated website was developed to serve as a central hub for information dissemination. It featured resources, event updates, and detailed information about the project's aims and ongoing activities. https://www.dontignoreme.net/ Under the coordination of Czechia, a committee was formed to draft a book titled "A Good Example Handbook for Inclusive Education."
