Objectives

The intention of the project was to fundamentally implement European-intercultural thinking and teacher behaviour in the (post-)university training of vocational school teachers at the participating institutions in an initial approach. The exemplary content focus of the transnational cooperation was placed on promoting competences in the curricular cross-sectional tasks of dealing with diversity and promoting digital competences. On the basis of this idea, central objectives were set at two levels: At the training-didactic level (for teacher training), the focus was on the implementation of an additional training module on internationalisation as well as the initial draft of a dynamic and more practice-integrating curricular approach. This approach should also enable individualisation of learning in the professionalisation of prospective teachers. With regard to the vocational school teachers in training involved in the project, the aim was - using the training didactic approach - to expand the acquisition of competences in the above-mentioned cross-curricular areas of responsibility. The focus here was on the exemplary development of hybrid learning formats for their own lessons.

Activities

The project was divided into a total of 6 project phases (4 activities), each of which can be assigned a specific output: Expansion of intercultural competences and gaining an overview of country-specific curricula, introduction and implementation of teaching videography to analyse support needs, development of a diagnostic tool to analyse learning difficulties, transnational development of exemplary digital and hybrid support formats for teaching and sharpening of the training methodological approach for teacher training (see “professionalisation cycle” on E+PRP; www.teachertraing-goes.eu), evaluation and modification of the developed concepts as well as final publication and discussion. In order to ensure a continuous work process in the above-mentioned thematic focal points - partly in small, specialised teams - a hybrid form of work was also chosen during project implementation with monthly virtual work meetings (Padlet, MS TEAMS) and face-to-face meetings at the end of the individual phases. These working meetings also served to familiarise with the pedagogical reality in the partner countries and to be able to tailor the concepts more reliably to the national requirements. Impact

The overarching objective of the project was to sensitise trainee teachers and young teachers to intercultural thinking and to allow them to gain experience in an international environment. Looking at the final evaluation and the assessments carried out after the face-to-face working meetings, this approach was successful. Over the course of the project, an approach based on lesson videography was developed for the differentiated documentation of learning outcomes using a learning structure grid and trialled several times in different learning groups. On this basis, examples of lessons were created in subject-related working groups which, with the help of digital tools and hybrid teaching approaches in the sense of the flipped classroom, enable internal differentiation and thus targeted support for pupils. A spiral-curricular approach based on the principles of Deeper Learning was developed for teacher training at vocational colleges, which enables an experience-based, reflective learning process in the sense of research-based learning. The results can be found on the project website www.teachertraining-goes.eu and in the eTwinning group / Twin Space. (Links to all portals: Implementation_Structure_Activities.pdf)
